Abstract: A system and method is provided for remote administration and management of a computer network, by installation of distributed software agents in remote network components, such as software agents implemented using encapsulated reusable interfaces such as COM or CORBA interfaces. Remote network management is effected by communication with the distributed agents using a structured language-independent parsable text document, such as a markup language; e.g. XML.

Abstract: A structured WorkFolder for organizing electronic documents in a self-contained data repository comprising sections for grouping related documents, and placeholders for indicating documents expected to be placed in the WorkFolder. The WorkFolder allows users of local or distributed data environments to gather and organize a collection of documents and supporting meta-data in a single data object that can be simultaneously accessed and updated by multiple users. The WorkFolder may also contain one or more task entries that are used to track the progress of work related to a WorkFolder. Additionally, supporting meta-data in the form of tasks, information fields, threaded discussions, as well as a detailed history log of all changes made to the WorkFolder can be stored in the WorkFolder.

Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus, method and computer program for processing documents using color marking. The apparatus includes a color scanner, a memory and a processor. The color scanner creates an image of each document. The memory stores one or more document processing instructions associated with the presence or absence of one or more color swatches within the image. The processor is coupled to the color scanner and the memory. In addition, the processor controls the color scanner, determining whether one or more color swatches are present or absent in the image and executing the document processing instructions associated with the presence or absence of the one or more color swatches.
