Abstract: A computer-implemented method, a computer program product, and a computer system are provided for generating and utilizing a health outcome index for a given research interest area and a given population. The computer-implemented method includes the steps of: (a) receiving data relating to one or more given criteria pertinent to the research interest area; (b) calculating a health outcomes index using one or more computer processes applying a given formula to the data relating to the one or more given criteria, said given formula including assignment of relative weights to said one or more criteria; (c) outputting the health outcome index; and (d) periodically repeating steps (a) through (c).
