  • Publication number: 20110224966
Abstract: A nuclear reactor fueling plan evaluating system and method in which reactor shutdown margin evaluation are performed quickly and accurately. A fueling procedure formulating part and an input setting part having databases are included. A maximum worth control rod candidate selecting part having a control rod worth calculating means which inputs fuel loading and control rod patterns of each fueling act, inputs a relatively simple second physics model, calculates control rod worth from the difference between the degree of subcriticality of a reactor core in a state that all control rods are inserted and the degree of subcriticality of the reactor core in a state that a single control rod is withdrawn for each fueling step, and selects a determined number of maximum worth control rod candidates. A reactor shutdown margin calculating part inputs a subdivided first physics model and calculates reactor shutdown margin for each maximum worth control rod candidate.

  • Publication number: 20070030943
Abstract: A spacer for a nuclear fuel assembly includes dividers orthogonally interdigitated relative to one another defining fuel and water rod cells. The dividers defining fuel rod cells have openings carrying an integrally formed spring which projects into the fuel cell to bear the fuel rod in the cell against an opposite stop carried by an opposing divider. The dividers are arranged in a 10×10 array with diagonally opposing quadrants being mirror images of one another. The dividers are surrounded by a peripheral band with integrally formed stops projecting into the peripheral cells enclosing the spacer.

  • Patent number: 6847906
Abstract: There are disclosed an inspection system for and a method of confirming the soundness of a transported object while the object is being transported and handled. Waveform sampling sensors are mounted on the transported object and a transportation container, and a GPS and a CCD camera are mounted on a transportation vehicle. Sampled data are sent via the Internet Web in real-time to a remote transported object monitoring office at all times while the object is being transported based on bidirectional communications between the transportation vehicle and the remote transported object monitoring office. Various items of information including generated accelerations, times at which the accelerations are generated, raw waveforms of the accelerations are successively displayed on a traveling route on a map displayed on a personal computer for bidirectional confirmation of the soundness of the transported object in real-time.

  • Patent number: 6847695
Abstract: A fuel assembly lower tie-plate with better performance in capturing linearly elongated foreign substances. The lower tie-plate has a screening plate positioned below the network section in the lower tie-plate cavity. The screening plate is arranged substantially horizontally so that the lower tie-plate cavity is divided into upper and lower parts by the screening plate. Tubular filters are attached to the screening plate so that the tubular filters have openings below and above the screening plate. Top ends of the tubular filters are closed, and the openings above the screening plate are formed in side walls of the tubular filters. The lower tie-plate may be assembled by combining the screening plate, the network section and the nozzle section together, after the tubular filters have been attached to the screening plate.
