Abstract: A hood (10) for a protective helmet having at least a crown and a forwardly projecting peak, includes a crown and portion (11) adapted to cover the crown of the helmet, a rear portion (12) and side portions (12a) and (12b) depending downwardly from the crown of the hood (10) adapted to cover the ears and neck of the wearer, the rear portion (12) has adjustable means (19) to adjust the length of the rear portion (12) of the hood and the side portions have forwardly projecting flaps (14) and (15), the flaps (14) and (15) having fastening means (16) and (17) to secure the flaps (14) and (15) under the chin of the wearer, and a sleeve portion (13) projecting forwardly of the crown adapted to receive the peak of the protective helmet.
