Abstract: The invention relates to a method of visualizing information about objects for the benefit of a user. The method comprises providing a substantially 2-D space with a plurality of separate locations; providing a set of objects with a plurality of objects; linking each of the objects in the 2-D space to an associated location in the 2-D space; and representing a 3-D virtual environment which is defined by the 2-D space; and at least accentuating and representing objects on the basis of altitudes in the 3-D virtual environment relative to the 2-D space.
