Abstract: An alert message application running in associated with an alert message response system and is configured with softkeys, each one of which is associated with an alert message response option that is displayed by a mobile communication device depending upon a type of alert message received by the mobile communication device from an event notification system. A mobile communication device user can select one of the displayed response options which causes coded information (response code) representing the selected response option to be included in an alert response message sent to the event notification system (ENS). The ENS uses the response code to determine whether to take an action.
Abstract: An event notification system is configured with a record for each one of a plurality of individual responders to a mass notification event. Each record can have preference information that is specified by an individual responder associated with the record, and the event notification system can use the preference information to generate, for each of the individual responders, a single mass notification message that is formatted according to the preferences of each individual responder.
Abstract: A healthcare system includes an event notification system (ENS) and a real-time location (RTL) system. The ENS operates to receive event messages from an event generation device that includes the identity of a clinical event instance, the location of the clinical event source and timestamp information associated with the event, and it operates to receive tag message information that includes the identity of a caregiver associated with the tag, the current location of the tag and timestamp information. Alert message logic operates on the clinical event information and the tag information to determine whether an alert message should be sent to a caregiver currently attending to a patient.
Abstract: An emergency notification and response system is linked to a fire alarm system, a security system and to a communication network over which it sends and receives emergency messages to and from building occupants and to emergency response personnel. The emergency notification and response system comprises a notification module which operates to receive signals from a fire detection system and send one or more messages to building occupants to investigate the validity of a possible fire event, and to respond to the message with an indication that a fire event is in progress or not. Depending upon information received in the response, the notification module sends an evacuation message to a selected sub-set of the building occupants that includes instructions for evacuating the building.
Abstract: One or more servers and hospital beds are connected to a healthcare network. At least one of the servers includes an event notification module that operates to receive patient EMR information and patient bed configuration information. The patient EMR information is comprised of a patient fall risk profile. At least one of the patient beds includes sensors that transmit messages which include information about the current bed configuration state to the event notification module. The event notification module uses information included in the patient fall risk profile and current bed configuration information to determine whether a patient is at risk of fall out of their bed, and if the patient is at risk, generates an alert message that is sent to a call station or hospital worker.
Abstract: An event notification system is linked to a plurality of event generation devices and to an event notification network. The system receives event messages from the event generation devices and determines what information should be included in an event notification message that the system transmits to one or more recipient devices. Each event notification message includes coded event message information and a coded unique message identity. A response message receive by the system from a recipient device includes the coded event message information which is used by the system to validate the response.
