Patents Assigned to Globol Chemicals (UK) Limited
  • Patent number: 6562294
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided, which enable an air modifying agent such as an insecticide, pesticide, insect repellant, fragrance, perfume etc. to be disseminated into an atmosphere. The air modifying agent is entrained in a flammable liquid carrier (2) which is less volative than the agent, which is held in a container (1). A wick (3) draws the agent/carrier (2) up to an igniting station provided at the rim (5) of a metal collar (4) which closely encircles the wick (3). The collar (4) is provided with a pair of diametrically opposed elongate slots (8), which expose part of the wick (3) to the atmosphere and thereby provide a vaporisation station spaced below the igniting station and disposed in the path of the flammable liquid carrier.

  • Patent number: 6555068
Abstract: A method and apparatus are described for dispersing an air modifying agent (e.g. a fragrance) in air. The air modifying agent and an electrolyte are entrained in a gel-based aqueous reservoir (7), which contacts a pair of electrodes (8, 9) which are +ve and −ve with respect to each other to provide an electrical potential between the electrodes. The electrical potential powers a small motor and fan (13, 14) which disperse the air modifying agent from the surface of the reservoir (7) to the surrounding atmosphere via apertures (16) in a housing (10) of the apparatus. The electrical potential can power additional or alternative electrical devices such as lighting and heating devices, and the arrangement may be such that the extent of exhaustion of the air modifying agent from the reservoir (7) corresponds generally to the extent of exhaustion of electrode (8, 9) activity, whereby the operability of the electrical device indicates the presence of air modifying agent in the reservoir (7).

  • Patent number: 6361311
Abstract: A low-burning candle comprises a body of fuel (1) having top (1a) and base (1b) regions, a glass enclosure (2), a central wick (3) and a glass or metal spacing member (5) encircling the wick within the body of fuel at a location above the base region of the fuel (1b). The spacing member (5) includes a wick-encircling top portion which limits combustion and thus defines a lower limit of travel of the flame (4) as the fuel is consumed, and vertically extending portion which serves to space the said limit of travel of the flame above the base region of the fuel (1b). The flame is thus kept away from direct contact with the glass enclosure (2) and by selecting the desired thermoconductivity of the spacing member (5) the flame will burn at its lower limit of travel for a greater or lesser length of time, depending on the amount of heat that is transferred to the base region of the fuel (1b) via the spacing member (5).
