Patents Assigned to Glowpoint, Inc.
  • Patent number: 8933983
Abstract: The disclosed systems and methods provide intelligent device inspection and interrogation in an application layer system to route packet-based network calls. These systems and methods can be used to detect the status of a specified endpoint. Endpoint devices can be configured to communicate status information to a central call manager. Endpoints can also be periodically polled to request device information. Pre-defined rules applied at the central call manager can be used to process call flow based on the device information. These rules can be configured so that a call that is not completed for any reason can be transferred to another destination such as a video mail service or an automated or live operator service.

  • Patent number: 7664098
Abstract: The present invention relates to systems and methods for recording usage of real-time audio, video and data communication services over packet-based networks. The present invention can collect call detail record information from a network gatekeeper and analyze the call detail record information to determine its validity. After checking validity, the invention can combine the call data with information retrieved from a customer database and store the combined record in billing database. The billing database can be accessed by modular billing modules to generate a customized invoice.

  • Patent number: 7200213
Abstract: The present invention relates to systems and methods for providing live operator service for a communication session over a packet-based network. The live operator of the invention can receive a call and conference with the caller to determine an intended call recipient. The live operator can then initiate a call to the intended call recipient. If the intended call recipient is available, the operator can connect the caller to the intended call recipient and disconnect itself from the call.
