  • Patent number: 11897515
Abstract: An autonomous vehicle (AV) implements a health protocol that may reduce pathogen transmission between users of the AV. The AV is equipped with a thermal sensor that captures a body temperature of a user. The AV compares the user's temperature to a threshold temperature, and if the user's temperature exceeds the threshold temperature, the AV performs checks to ensure that the user's planned trip follows current regulations or recommendations. For example, the AV confirms that the user is traveling between the user's home and a healthcare facility. If the trip is permitted, the AV enables the user to enter the AV. The AV may include a disinfectant system for disinfecting the passenger compartment or surfaces after the user exits the AV.

  • Patent number: 11898854
Abstract: A method for generating shard data from a geographical area split into sections is proposed. The method uses data representative of a geographical area that is split into sections and data representative of semantic objects located in the geographical area. For each of the sections, semantic objects are searched that are located at least partly in a section. A shard data entry of the shard data is generated. The shard data entry includes one or more semantic objects found by the searching.

  • Patent number: 11899452
Abstract: Various technologies described herein pertain to routing an autonomous vehicle based upon risk of takeover of the autonomous vehicle by a human operator. A computing system receives an origin location and a destination location of the autonomous vehicle. The computing system identifies a route for the autonomous vehicle to follow from the origin location to the destination location based upon output of a computer-implemented model. The computer-implemented model is generated based upon labeled data indicative of instances in which autonomous vehicles are observed to transition from operating autonomously to operating based upon conduction by human operators while the autonomous vehicles are executing predefined maneuvers. The computer-implemented model takes, as input, an indication of a maneuver in the predefined maneuvers that is performed by the autonomous vehicle when the autonomous vehicle follows a candidate route.

  • Publication number: 20240046324
Abstract: Sensors on autonomous vehicles offer data that can be used to track and recognize rider achievement. Digital tokens can be output to users on a user device to provide feedback to the user in real-time. To determine an appropriate digital token, data specific to the user can be matched against a template or checked against a threshold. A digital token corresponding to a matched template or a crossed threshold can be then retrieved or generated. In some cases, the data specific to the user is used to determine whether the user matches a pattern. A user can accrue a collection of digital tokens on the user device.

  • Publication number: 20240034280
Abstract: Fluid cleaning systems for cleaning AV sensors are disclosed herein. An example fluid cleaning system includes a reservoir storing a fluid. The fluid can flow from the reservoir to a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger can transfer heat generated by a part of the AV to the fluid, thereby improving cleaning efficacy. The part may be battery, motor, engine, sensor (e.g., the sensor to be cleaned with the fluid or another sensor), etc. The heat may be an unintended product of an operation of the part. The heat exchanger can use the heat to warm up the fluid and cool down the part. Additionally or alternatively, the fluid can be heated by another heat exchanger or a heater. The heater can generate heat intended for heating the fluid. The heater may be local to the sensor to be cleaned, e.g., the heater is closer to the sensor than the reservoir.
