  • Patent number: 12121962
Abstract: A system and method of manufacturing an aluminum fuel cell cradle includes providing a negative cast mold having cavities to form the cradle and providing a feeding mechanism disposed about the mold and in fluid communication with the cavities thereof. The feeding mechanism includes a plurality of primary risers connected to and in fluid communication with cavities. The method further includes melting a first metallic material to define a molten metallic material, and moving the mold to a vertical casting orientation about a rotational axis, while feeding molten metallic material through the runner to the cavities, and cooling the molten metallic material to define a solidified metallic material. A second solidification time in the risers is greater than a first solidification time in the mold such that shrinkage of the solidified metallic material occurs in the risers away from the mold.

  • Patent number: 12126242
Abstract: A motor stator includes a plurality of stacked annular stator laminates defining a stator core having an inner circumference, an outer circumference, a plurality of stator teeth on the inner circumference, and a plurality of ears extending outward from the outer circumference with a respective bolt hole defined in each ear. A first set of the stator laminates includes a plurality of coolant openings therethrough, wherein the coolant openings of adjacent stator laminates communicate with one another in order to define cooling channels inside the stator core. A second set of the stator laminates each include one or more generally radially extending first openings therethrough, wherein the first openings of adjacent stator laminates communicate with one another to define one or more first radial channel segments inside the stator core for providing radial coolant flow between one or more bolt holes and one or more cooling channels.

  • Patent number: 12126225
Abstract: A method of inspecting a stator stack includes disposing the stator stack on a support surface of an inspection system, and performing a depth measurement of a stator slot. The depth measurement includes rotating the stator slot along a first direction to a plurality of first orientations, taking a first image at each of the first orientations, and measuring a depth based on at least one of the first images. The method includes performing a width measurement of the stator slot, which includes rotating the stator slot along a second direction to a plurality of second orientations, taking a second image at each of the second orientations, and measuring a width based on at least one of the second images. The method further includes inspecting edges of the stator slot in the at least one of the first images to detect a potential deviation.

  • Patent number: 12121960
Abstract: A casting die includes a first ingate defining a first annular chamber and a second ingate defining a second annular chamber and spaced from the first ingate. The die includes a first end ring gate concentric with the first ingate and defining a first end ring chamber in fluid communication with the first annular chamber, and a second end ring gate concentric with the second ingate and defining a second end ring chamber in fluid communication with the second annular chamber. The die includes runners interconnecting the first and second end ring gates. Each of the runners defines a conductor bar channel in fluid communication with the first and second end ring chambers. The die includes an overflow gate disposed between the first and second ingates, wherein the overflow gate defines an annular overflow chamber in fluid communication with the conductor.

  • Patent number: 12125225
Abstract: A monocular camera system for a vehicle includes a front mono camera, a side mono camera, and one or more controllers in electronic communication with the front mono camera and the side mono camera. The one or more controllers execute instructions to determine an ideal lagged distance the vehicle travels between a current time step and a previous time step as two asynchronous camera frames are captured by the front mono camera and the side mono camera, determine a number of delayed frames captured by either the front mono camera or the side mono camera between the current time step and the previous time step based on the ideal lagged distance. The controllers determine a direction of travel of the vehicle that indicates which mono camera is selected to provide a previous camera frame captured at the previous time step.

  • Patent number: 12122349
Abstract: A system for controlling torque in a vehicle includes a controller connected to a propulsion system having a plurality of independently controllable actuators configured to apply a combined torque. The controller is configured to perform a method including detecting a combined torque request indicating a total requested torque to be applied to the vehicle, where the total requested torque is split and a portion of the total requested torque is assigned to each actuator. The method further includes determining a torque command for each actuator, estimating a total applied torque provided to the vehicle, and based on a difference between the total applied torque and the total requested torque being greater than a first threshold, calculating an error value for each actuator, comparing each error value to a reference value, and performing a remedial action based on at least one error value exceeding the reference value.

  • Publication number: 20240343151
Abstract: A system and method for adaptation of electric vehicle charging communication parameters that includes commencing, by an electric vehicle (EV), a communication session between the EV and an electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) charging station. The communication session includes extracting a vehicle charging communication session parameter from the EVSE charging station and validating, by the EV, that the vehicle charging communication session parameter with a default charging parameter. A direct current or an alternating current charging of the EV, based on a digital communication parameter received by the EVSE charging station, is initiated. In the event of a failure of the communication session, the vehicle charging communication session parameter is relaxed and a restarted EV charging session is initiated, where if the restarted EV charging session is successful, a deviation parameter is generated.
