  • Patent number: 9382741
Abstract: A vehicle includes a vehicle body having a pillar, a vehicle door movably coupled to the vehicle body, and an assembly for at least partially opening the vehicle door. The assembly is coupled to the vehicle door and includes an actuator having an actuator body and an actuator shaft movable relative to the actuator body between a retracted position and an extended position. Further, the assembly includes a lever pivotally coupled to the vehicle door and a spring coupled between the lever and the actuator shaft. The spring biases the lever toward the pillar. When the vehicle door is unlatched, the lever exerts a force on the pillar and, consequently, pushes the vehicle door away from the pillar to a partially open position. The present disclosure also relates to the assembly for at least partially opening the vehicle door as described above.

  • Patent number: 9381598
Abstract: A master verification assembly includes a plurality of plunger devices. Each of the plunger devices includes a piston that is axially moveable between a raised position and a depressed position. When placed in a washing assembly, each of the plunger devices is aligned with a nozzle. The nozzles dispense a cleaning fluid under pressure. An axial force applied by the dispensed cleaning fluid depresses the pistons into the depressed position, whereupon the pistons disposed in the depressed position are axially secured in an indicator position. Upon removal of the master verification assembly from the washing assembly, depressed pistons in the indicator position indicate proper function of the nozzles, whereas pistons disposed in the raised position indicate improperly functioning nozzles.

  • Patent number: 9381799
Abstract: An internal combustion engine for a hybrid vehicle includes an engine block, a flywheel, and a grounding clutch coupled to the block. The block defines a bore along a first longitudinal axis. The flywheel is rotatable about the axis and includes a spline. The spline has a first tooth and a second tooth spaced apart from the first tooth to define a gap therebetween. The clutch is configured for preventing rotation of the flywheel about the first axis and includes a locking pin. The pin is transitionable between a locked position in which the pin is disposed within the gap and abuts the first and second teeth such that the flywheel does not rotate, and an unlocked position in which the pin does not abut the first and second teeth such that the flywheel rotates. A hybrid vehicle is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9382954
Abstract: A flow limiting and temperature compensated orifice assembly includes a valve body having an orifice and a plurality of exterior bypass channels or openings. The valve body is disposed in a complementary cylindrical chamber in a housing in the fluid line which also receives a bi-metallic disc and a rubber washer. The bi-metallic disc is disposed adjacent one end of the body and defines a center opening which aligns with the orifice opening. In a first, higher temperature position or state, the bi-metallic disc engages the adjacent end face of the body and closes off flow through the exterior channels and allows fluid flow only through the flow limiting and thus torque controlling orifice. In a second, lower temperature position or state, the bi-metallic disc has flipped and moved away from the end face of the body and allows fluid flow through the exterior bypass channels as well as the orifice opening.

  • Patent number: 9381643
Abstract: A robotic system includes an end-effector and a control system. The control system includes a processor, a dynamical system module (DSM), and a velocity control module (VCM). Via execution of a method, the DSM processes inputs via a flow vector field and outputs a control velocity command. The inputs may include an actual position, desired goal position, and demonstrated reference path of the end-effector. The VCM receives an actual velocity of the end-effector and the control velocity command as inputs, and transmits a motor torque command to the end-effector as an output command. The control system employs a predetermined set of differential equations to generate a motion trajectory of the end-effector in real time that approximates the demonstrated reference path. The control system is also programmed to modify movement of the end-effector in real time via the VCM in response to perturbations of movement of the end-effector.
