  • Patent number: 12001168
Abstract: A holographic projection system including first, second and third light sources, SLMs, a lens, a combiner and a control module. The first, second and third light sources generate respective light beams. The light beams have respective wavelengths. The SLMs respectively diffract the light beams. The lens is disposed to adjust a divergence angle of one of the light beams, such that diffracted light out of each of the SLMs is at a same diffraction angle. The SLMs encode phase holograms including respective versions of a graphic image based on light generated by the light sources including light output from the lens to provide phase hologram beams. The combiner combines the phase hologram beams to provide a combined phase hologram beam projected for viewing a combined graphic image. The control module encodes a prism hologram on one of the SLMs to align outputs of the SLMs.

  • Patent number: 12000955
Abstract: A computing device receives a setup command and signals mobile robots to move sensor targets into positions within a predetermined range of a turntable. Each mobile robot may be coupled to a sensor target. Once the sensor targets are moved into the positions, calibration may be initiated, in which a vehicle is rotated using the turntable, and sensors coupled to the vehicle are calibrated based on detection of the sensor targets. The computing device may signal the mobile robots to adjust the sensor targets as needed, or, after calibration, to move into storage or charging positions.

  • Publication number: 20240174255
Abstract: A system for filtering RADAR data includes one or more graphical processing units (GPUs) for performing steps of a filtering process in parallel. For example, a first GPU or first portion of GPU circuitry calculates a threshold parabola for a tensor of RADAR data. In parallel, a second GPU or second portion of GPU circuitry separately reduces and indexes the tensor for comparison to the threshold parabola. The threshold parabola is compared to reduced and indexed data to filter the RADAR data. Importance sampling can also be used to reduce data, e.g., if the RADAR data includes four dimensions (range, Doppler, azimuth, and elevation).

  • Publication number: 20240174242
Abstract: Autonomous vehicles are tested and evaluated on the road and in simulated road environments. When testing and evaluating autonomous vehicles in a simulated road environment, having detailed three-dimensional geometries and characteristics of road surfaces in the form of road model data can greatly improve a simulated environment's ability to test and evaluate vehicle controls and dynamics, and can generate a more accurate pose for the autonomous vehicle in simulation. However, generating road model data is computationally expensive, and it is not desirable to generate road model data for an entire map to cover all test scenarios. An optimizer can reduce the amount of resources needed by selecting a least number of map sections to be generated and determining the locations of the map sections to be generated that achieves a desired coverage amount for the test suite.

  • Patent number: 11995989
Abstract: To visualize planned behavior of an autonomous vehicle (AV) traveling along a roadway, a user interface engine receives data describing a planned pathway of the AV along the roadway and object data describing an object having a predicted pathway crossing the planned pathway of the AV at a cross point. The user interface engine classifies the object either an asserting object or a yielding object based on a prediction of whether the object reaches the cross point before the AV or after the AV. The user interface engine generates an image that includes the planned pathway of the AV and the object in the environment of the AV. The image of the object indicates whether the object is classified as an asserting object or a yielding object.
