Abstract: An electrically conductive titanium dioxide sputter target with an electrical resistivity of less than 5 ?-cm, which contains as an additive at least one doping agent or a mixture of doping agents in an amount of less than 5 mole %. The doping agent or agents are selected from the group including indium oxide, zinc oxide, bismuth oxide, aluminum oxide, gallium oxide, antimony oxide, and zirconium oxide. This treatment renders the titanium dioxide sputter target suitable for use in a direct-current sputtering process without any negative effects on the properties of the coating.

Abstract: A press for laminating together a pair of foils has an upper die and a movable lower die, the foil extending. An actuating plate is movable toward and array from the stationary die. A spring is provided between the actuating plate and the movable die. A drive displaces the actuating plate and the movable die carried by the spring thereon toward and away from the stationary die for compressing the foils between the dies when the dies are spaced apart by a predetermined distance equal substantially to a thickness of the foils. A sensor detects movement of the movable die toward the actuating plate with compression of the spring on movement of the actuating plate toward the stationary die. When the sensor detects movement of the movable die when the dies are spaced apart by a distance greater than the predetermined distance the actuating plate is arrested.

Abstract: The laser beam (204) violates the foil layer (203) in an upper part region (203b) whereas this remains intact in a lower part region (203a). During the production of lines of weakening by laser action the degree of foil weakening can be controlled substantially more accurately than in conventional punching and cutting processes to produce lines of weakening. The composite foil (201) is sufficiently tear-resistant during application that it can be dispensed without any problem onto an object to be stuck without tears or any risk of destruction. As soon as the adhesive (202) develops its effect however, the foil structure can no longer be removed without any residue: the violation of the foil layer (203) has the effect that the self-adhesive composite tears off uncontrollably without fail during a manipulation attempt. Abstract: An apparatus for transferring a plurality of objects from a pickup station to blisters of an adjacent passing foil has a stationary support adjacent the foil and pickup station and defining a support axis and an arm pivotal on the support about the support axis and extending radially from the support axis. A slide shiftable on the arm radially of the support axis defines a slide axis about which a suction grab can pivot. The suction grab is adapted to pick up and drop a plurality of the objects. First and second drives have motors on the support and serve for pivoting the arm about the support axis between a pickup position with the grab over the pickup station and a deposit position with the grab over the passing foil and for shifting the slide along the arm.
