The stream of liquid droplets emitted by the injection unit (70) is surrounded and broken up further by a gas nozzle (102) which encloses the outlet opening of the injection unit and is positioned slightly downstream of same.

Abstract: An identification unit for checking and/or access authorization of a person includes a representation of the person and of personal data as visually readable alphanumeric data and/or machine readable codes. The identification unit includes a unitary woven product of at least two woven sections, wherein a first woven section includes a specific woven image for visually representing the person, wherein a thread pattern on a visible side of the first woven section simultaneously has a code function which may be machine readable. A second woven section includes at least one of a woven text and woven code with data which relate to the person and/or determine a validity range of the identification units.

Abstract: Branched, substantially unsaturated fatty alcohol polylglycol ethers are produced by a process which comprises the steps of: (a) dimerizing unsaturated C16-22 fatty acid to form a dimer fraction and a monomer fraction comprised of branched, substantially unsaturated fatty acids and straight chain saturated fatty acids, (b) removing the monomer fraction from the dimerization step, (c) converting the branched, substantially unsaturated fatty acids from step (b) into the corresponding fatty acid methyl esters, (d) hydrogenating the branched, substantially unsaturated fatty acid methyl esters with the double bonds intact to form the corresponding branched, substantially unsaturated fatty alcohols and (e) alkoxylating the branched, substantially unsaturated fatty alcohols. The fatty alcohol polylglycol ethers thus produced exhibit improved performance properties and greater oxidative stability than standard unsaturated fatty alcohol sulfates.

Abstract: A shortening hook for strands of round link chain. A safety body is arranged in the mouth of the hook. The safety body is moveable by hand against the tension of a reset spring from the area of the mouth of the hook transversely to the trajectory motion of the hook. An operating link projects into the mouth of the hook and is arranged at the end section of the safety body. This operating link can be pressed back when the hook shaft takes hold so that the safety body frees up the mouth area.

Abstract: A side impact beam to be integrated in a motor vehicle includes at least one elongated bar, which has a trapezoidal cross section and terminates on both ends in ramp-like end portions, wherein the elongated bar has a central web, flanks diverging outwardly from the central web, and flanges connected to the extremities of the flanks, and terminal attachment zones. For manufacturing such a side impact beam, a semifinished flat blank is cut to size of constant width from a sheet metal material band of constant thickness and includes an elongated center portion of constant width and a length which is at least half a length of the blank, wherein the center portion terminates on opposite ends in tongue-shaped end portions.

Abstract: A gold-free platinum material that is dispersion-strengthened by small, finely dispersed particles of base metal oxide. The base metal is either 0.01-0.5 wt. % Sc or a mixture/alloy of Sc and at least one metal from the group consisting of Zr, Y, and Ce with a total base metal content of 0.05-0.5 wt. %.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for purifying mixtures of substances by means of optionally fractional crystallization. During the crystallization process, impurities can precipitate in addition to the desired product, since these are present in such high concentrations that the limit of solubility is exceeded. According to the inventive method, a solvent or a mixture of solvents with a strong affinity to an impurity with a tendency to precipitate is added to the mixture of substances or the melt to be purified so that the corresponding impurity is kept in solution. If there are several impurities with a tendency to precipitate, some of the impurities can be kept in solution by adding a suitable solvent and the remainder can be separated by mechanical means, e.g. filtering by suction, centrifugation, etc.

Abstract: The invention relates to a stratified material with a coating which is deposited on one side or both sides and which is comprised of a planar substrate containing acrylate. The synthetic resin is modified by means of high-temperature resistant, polymerizable nanoparticles having a glass transition temperature of the homopolymerizates ≧150 ° C. Said nanoparticles comprise a core consisting of silicon dioxide and of at least one side chain which is covalently bound to the core via one or several oxygen atoms of the oxide, and which is of the formula (MeO)x(Me—(CH2)n—(OCO)m—CR1═CH2)y, wherein Me represents Si or Al, x is 1 to 3, m is 0 and 1, n is 0 to 6, y is 1 to 3 and R represents H or CH3, whereby the free valences of Me represent a binding to another oxygen atom of the core or are saturated by alkoxy radicals.

Abstract: A recycling procedure for 300 mm nitride dummy wafers which have a stabilization layer of silicon dioxide is provided. The recycling procedure is essentially based on selectively wet etching the deposited silicon nitride with respect to the silicon dioxide stabilization layer, preferably with hot phosphoric acid at 160° C. In particular, a method of handling a silicon wafer which is employed as a dummy wafer during a nitride deposition process includes the steps of depositing a silicon dioxide layer on the wafer surface, performing the nitride deposition process on the wafer to deposit silicon nitride or silicon oxinitride on the wafer surface until a predetermined layer thickness is reached, and etching the silicon nitride or silicon oxinitride layer selectively with respect to the silicon dioxide layer.

Abstract: A method for evaluating a code signal generated by an encoder having code and reference tracks. The encoder is interposed between a light and a light sensor and moves relative to the light and the sensor such that the code and reference tracks transmit light from the light onto the sensor. The sensor generates the code signal as a function of the light transmitted by the code track which is received by sensor transducers. The method includes capturing and evaluating the amplitude of a reference signal generated as a function of the light transmitted by the reference track which is received by sensor transducers. A measurement parameter relevant for evaluating the amplitude of the code signal is then adapted on the basis of the evaluation of the amplitude of the reference signal in order to compensate the evaluation of the code signal to changing measurement conditions.

Abstract: A removable motor vehicle seat includes a locking mechanism, an operating element for triggering the locking mechanism and at least one electric and/or pneumatic interface which has a detachable connector element. A contact mechanism is provided for connecting and/or disconnecting the connector element which is forcibly coupled to the locking mechanism so that removal or installation of the vehicle seat takes place in at least two chronologically successive phases wherein in one phase exclusively a connection/disconnection of the connector element takes place and in the other phase exclusively a locking/unlocking of the vehicle seat takes place. The removable vehicle seat ensures an automatic functionally reliable connection and disconnection of the electric and/or pneumatic components of a vehicle seat during the installation and dismantling of the seat.

Abstract: In order to provide a moulding composition which makes it possible to form shaped components having not only one but two or more visible sides, it is proposed that this composition comprise a methyl-methacrylate-based syrup and up to 85%, expressed in terms of the moulding composition, of an inorganic filler, and that the moulding composition comprise deformable, propellant-filled hollow microspheres having a plastic wall which is essentially insoluble in methyl methacrylate, the proportion by volume of the hollow microspheres to the total volume of the moulding composition being in the 5 to 50 vol. % range.

Abstract: A device for feeding sheets of a recording medium from a stack to an office machine, having movable elements which are moved by way of driven continuously rotating traction devices in the feed direction over the respective top sheet of the stack. Abstract: A leather covering piece for a vehicle interior lining comprises a leather piece and an intermediate layer connected with the leather piece. A hardenable mass is applied onto the intermediate layer or the leather piece. The hardened mass gives the leather covering piece such an inherent rigidity that it maintains a curved shape and can be inserted into an injection mold. The stacking of prefabricated leather covering pieces is also possible. The shape of the leather covering piece already corresponds to that of the finished product, in particular of the vehicle interior lining for which it is used. The leather covering piece is back-molded in order to obtain a stable carrier piece which gives the entire interior lining more stability.

The the superparamagnetic particles have a particle size of 1 nm to 500 nm. A tissue-specific substance in the form of diphosphonic acids and physiologically innocuous salts of diphosphonic acids can be added.
