  • Patent number: 5655689
Abstract: A discharge apparatus provided as a single spray has in the interior of the discharge connection as an evaporation barrier for the medium a rotary closure, which can be opened and closed by a mutual rotation of the casing and the head or the body and the medium reservoir. For this purpose a shaft part in the form of a filler is formed from two longitudinally, interconnected bar parts, which rotatably engage in one another and form closure parts of the closure located within a cover sleeve. This allows very long storage times of the filled discharge apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5652825
Abstract: An improved power supply for converting any of various standard national AC network voltages to low-voltage DC power suitable for driving a 1 or 2-watt device, such as a fan, features a semiconductor control circuit (18, FET 46) which chops each half-wave of a rectified voltage and uses the low-voltage portions to feed charging current pulses to a storage capacitor. The voltage on the capacitor (14) is used by other portions of the circuit to regulate rotation speed of the fan or other consuming device (40) to a value set on a variable resistor. The use of the low-voltage portions of the input signal reduces power losses and increases efficiency.

  • Patent number: 5651722
Abstract: A machine for working the butt weld seam of a band belt, preferably having a toothed edge, includes various stations disposed successively along a feed path. The stations are a milling device, a grinding device, two ridge milling devices and a band advance device. In the milling device the welding beads are milled off on both broad sides of the band belt to form flat bases which are subsequently surface-ground in the grinding device. The succeeding milling device removes the ridge on the back of the band belt and the other milling device removes the ridge in the toothed space. The milling device for the toothed edge comprises a sensing element which is guided along a tooth of a template corresponding to the tooth space contour or another tooth space of the same band belt.

  • Patent number: 5651216
Abstract: A door closing mechanism for a two-panel door having a leading panel and a trailing panel disposed adjacent to one another and being hingedly connected to a door frame. The door closing mechanism controls the closing sequence of a leading panel and a trailing panel, such that a trailing panel is locked in an open position prior to the closing of a leading panel. A locking mechanism, for locking and unlocking the trailing panel, includes a pivoting member which interacts, inter alia, with a sliding block and release member, for pivotally locking and unlocking a locking device. This locking mechanism pivots the pivoting lever into a locking position for preventing the closure of a trailing panel in advance of a leading panel upon a leading panel moving from a closed position to an open position. This locking mechanism can also pivot the pivoting lever into an unlocking position for permitting positioning of a trailing panel into a closed position upon a leading panel being in a closed position.

  • Patent number: 5647417
Abstract: A long-timber chipping machine has a timber feed channel for receiving longitudinally arranged timbers, advanced using a timber-advancing device to a vertically movable chipping device positioned at the downstream end of the feed channel. The chipping device has a rotatable cutter ring equipped with chipping cutters on its cylindrical inner wall, which defines a chipping chamber. The chamber is aligned with the downstream end of the feed channel. To improve the chipping, a curved timber-receiving plate projects into the chipping chamber from the downstream end of the feed channel, which also has a matching curved base. The curvature of the plate and the base match the curvature of upper cylindrical inner wall of the cutter ring so that the upper cylindrical inner wall can be lowered closely to the plate, leaving only a very small clearance and exposing all of the timbers to the chipping cutters.

  • Patent number: 5647640
Abstract: A mining machine especially for seam mining as in the mining of coal has a sensor for incipient sag of the plow pass of the continuously driven endless chain and a computer to which the sensor is connected and which controls the conveyor drive at the upstream end of the plow pass and the downstream end of a conveyor pass to reduce the speed of this drive until the plow pass is retensioned and any sag is accumulated at the conveyor pass. This arrangement eliminates problems with dislocation of the mining plow or of the conveyor flights as they are guided by guide devices onto the plow trough at the upstream end of the plow pass.
