    Abstract: An antimicrobial material that includes an antimicrobial layer comprising an antimicrobial agent entrapped within a polymer matrix is provided. The polymer matrix is water stable, and an exposed surface of the antimicrobial layer exhibits sustained-release antimicrobial properties for at least 7 days. A composition for forming the antimicrobial material is also provided, as well as, a method of making the antimicrobial material.
