  • Patent number: 10341766
Abstract: The present invention relates to a microphone apparatus (10) with a main beamformer (F, BF) that provides a directional audio output (SF) by combining microphone signals (X, Y) from multiple microphones (11, 12). The quality of beamformed microphone signals normally depends on the individual microphones having equal sensitivity characteristics across the used frequency range. The invention enables automatic adaptation of the main beamformer (F, BF) to variations in microphone sensitivity and to changes in the alignment of the microphone apparatus (10) with respect to the user's mouth (7).

  • Patent number: 10299027
Abstract: A headset with an electro-acoustic input transducer arranged to pick up an acoustic signal and convert the acoustic signal to an electric signal. Based on processing a portion of the electric signal, the voice activity detector is configured to: detect proximal voice activity, distal voice activity and no voice activity, at times when respectively present in the acoustic signal picked up by the electro-acoustic transducer, and to select a respective mode, the selection of which is encoded in the control signal. The first processor is controlled by the voice activity detector to reduce, in the output signal, intelligibility of distal voice activity at least at portions of time periods when the control signal indicates the mode of presence of distal voice activity.

  • Patent number: 10262676
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and a headset for reducing pop-noise in voice communication between a user and a far-end device. The headset has a first, a second and a third electro-acoustic input transducer for reception of audio input signals. The headset also has a first beamformer to provide a voice signal. The first beamformer is configured to optimize the voice-to-background noise ratio. The headset comprises a second beamformer configured for providing a pop-noise signal. The pop-noise signal is based on the first input signal from the first input transducer, the second input signal from the second input transducer, and a third input signal from the third input transducer. The second beamformer is adaptively configured to cancel voice and background noise while not cancelling pop-noise. The headset compares the pop-noise signal to the voice signal to determine time periods and frequency bands having pop-noise.

  • Patent number: 10255219
Abstract: An apparatus (301) for communication according to a Universal Serial Bus, USB, specification, comprising: a first USB device (301) and a second USB device (306) for connecting operatively to a first USB host and a second USB host, respectively; an audio interface stage (320) configured to interface with an audio component such as a headset; and audio controller (316). The audio controller (316) is configured with: a first channel (327), channeling audio signals between the first USB device and the audio interface stage (320), and a second channel (328), channeling audio signals between the second USB device and the audio interface stage (320); wherein the audio controller (316) automatically switches between the first channel (327) and the second channel (328) while giving priority to audio signals on the first channel over audio signals on the second channel.

  • Patent number: 10115412
Abstract: A signal processor (105) for a headset (101) configured with a microphone terminal (106) for receiving a microphone signal, a loudspeaker terminal (107) for outputting a loudspeaker signal, and a far-end terminal (108) for communicating an inbound signal and an outbound signal with a far-end; comprising: a side-tone path (110) configured to generate a side-tone signal from the microphone signal via a controllable side-tone filter; wherein a side-tone filter controller (114) receives the microphone signal and computes a first noise estimate with a signal-to-noise level of the microphone signal at respective frequency bands and based thereon controls the side-tone filter (111) to improve or optimize a signal-to-noise ratio.
