Abstract: A method of and a system for synchronizing isochronous audio data frames provided by a USB interface to a clock of a wireless RF communication device is provided. The USB interface and the wireless RF communication device are connected via an I2S link, the method comprising receiving the isochronous audio data frames and the wireless RF communication device clock in a streaming controller, phase locking the isochronous audio data frames to a USB interface clock, counting start-of-frame pulses of the phase locked isochronous audio data frames, comparing the counted start-of-frame pulses with the wireless RF communication device clock to determine a difference signal, the difference signal triggering a synchronization event code when a threshold difference has been reached, rate matching the isochronous audio data frames to the wireless RF communication device clock upon receiving the synchronization event code.

Abstract: An earphone device (1) comprising a main body (14) to be inserted in to the outer ear (28) of a user. The main body (14) has a first side (5) that faces the user's head when inserted, a cavity (13) and a sound opening (2) connecting the first side (5) with the cavity (13). The main body (14) further comprises an ear canal protrusion (3) to be inserted into the ear canal (7). The cross section of the ear canal protrusion (3) is smaller than the cross section of the ear canal (7) and the ear canal protrusion (3) is having a first side (8) adapted to lie against the ear canal wall (10) and a second side (9) lying opposite the first side (8) and beside the sound opening (2).
Abstract: A headset and method for voice communication comprising a housing (2) and a pickup unit (8) rotatably connected to the housing via a joint (7). The pickup unit (8) transmits its position to circuitry which in turn enables functions according to its position. When the unit is moved to a predetermined position and a function is enabled, the user is preferably notified by an audible signal in the earphone. The unit may be rotated, pivoted or twisted and even ratcheted to various positions to engage different functions, such as mute, volume up/down, activate Bluetooth® link etc. One position detection includes a sliding contact (20, 70) mutually rotatable about a rotational axis (26) and a annular ring (50) arranged so that the ring (50) is positioned around the rotational axis (26) so as to provide an electrical connection between the first annular ring (50) and the contact members (30).
Abstract: An earphone device (1) comprising a main body (14) to be inserted in the outer ear (28) of a user, a conchal wall stabilizer (4) extending from the main body (14) and adapted to engage the conchal wall (24) of the ear (28), the conchal wall stabilizer (4) being able to assume different positions in relation to the main body (4). The conchal wall stabilizer (4) is a bi-stable mechanism, which is movable from a first stable position via a dead point to a second stable position. Spring means (32) biases the conchal wall stabilizer (4) towards the first stable position, when the conchal wall stabilizer (4) is positioned on a first side of the dead point, and towards the second stable position, when the conchal wall stabilizer (4) is positioned on a second side of the dead point.
Abstract: A base unit, which is arranged to provide a communications connection between a plurality of fixed communications units and at least one mobile communications unit, such as a headset, is arranged to adapt the bandwidth of the communications connection between the fixed communications units, which operate at various bandwidths, and the mobile units. The fixed communications units may be public switched telephones, PC phones, PDA units, etc. The invention makes it possible to optimize the sound quality in dependence on which type of fixed communications unit is coupled to the mobile unit, and which task is to be solved. In one embodiment, it is possible to lock the bandwidth, e.g. to the lowest bandwidth, irrespective of which fixed communications connection is used.
Abstract: The USB device (e.g. an audio class device) comprises a USB bus interface that connects to an upstream USB port and a USB logical device that provides first USB endpoints for upstream communication on a first channel. The USB host comprises a USB host controller that connects to a downstream USB port, and a USB driver that provides second USB endpoints for downstream communication on a second channel; wherein the USB host operates concurrently with the USB device. The processor is configured to communicate data between the first channel and the second channel via the first USB endpoints and the second USB endpoints, respectively.
Abstract: An earhook (1), for example for a headset, to be worn around the root of the auricle (14) in the postauricular sulcus. The earhook (1) extends between a first end (5) and a second end (6) and has at least a first (2) and a second (3) curved element interconnected at the first end (5). Each curved element (2, 3) has a concave first side pointing forward towards the root of the auricle (14) and a convex second side pointing away from the root of the auricle (14) when worn. The curved elements (2, 3) are arranged with lateral distance (w) seen in a direction essentially perpendicular to the side of the head.

Abstract: A method of controlling a communications channel, comprising: receiving a real time digital signal; processing the real time digital signal to provide a control signal; and controlling the base station in response to the control signal. Where the processing comprises in succeeding time slots determining whether predefined signal content is present in the real time digital signal, increasing or decreasing a first value when predefined signal content is present and, respectively, decreasing or increasing the first value when predefined signal content is not present, and changing the control signal when the first value reaches a first target value. The method also relates to controlling a base station for a headset, where the base station and headset communicates via a wireless connection and where the base station communicates with a PC via a wired interface e.g. a USB interface.
Abstract: A headphone or a headset having at least a first and a second earphone unit is provided, the first and second earphone units being interconnected via a connecting band, the connecting band having a first end configured to connect to the first earphone unit and a second end configured to connect to the second earphone unit, wherein at least the first earphone unit comprises a first transceiver, and at least the first end of the connecting band comprises a second transceiver, the first and second transceivers being configured to inductively connect, thereby connecting the first earphone unit to conducting elements in the connecting band. It is an advantage of using an inductive connection between the earphone unit and the connecting band that no wires need to be transferred from the earphone unit to the connecting band. Hereby, a 360 degree rotation of the joint may be obtained.
