  • Publication number: 20130208774
Abstract: Disclosed are wireless communication systems and methods for calibrating same. The communication systems may include first wireless transceivers having: (a) a modem, and (b) one or more Radio Frequency (RF) chain pairs. There may also be included a sounding circuit block. A calibrated switchable bridging block (CSBB) may switchably couple signals between the first transceivers and the sounding circuit block. Calibration control logic may regulate signal flow through said CSBB during a sounding sequence of said first wireless transceiver and may apply compensation coefficients to RF compensation circuits functionally associated with said the wireless transceiver RF chain pairs.

  • Patent number: 8289902
Abstract: The invention relates to a device to be used in a wireless communication system with CSMA-based MAC, comprising transmitting circuitry for transmitting at least a first and a second RTS message and at least a first and a second data packet on a transmission medium, and a spatially selective antenna. It is further proposed that the device uses a distributed antenna that combines the antenna elements of several devices and that the device observes the transmissions of other devices, analyzes the observed transmissions for transmission patterns and adapts its own transmissions to the detected transmission patterns. The invention further relates to a system, a method and a computer program to be used in a wireless communication system.

  • Patent number: 7605758
Abstract: An antenna featuring a pair of radiating elements. Each pair of radiating element is fed from the same input. Each radiating element is a stacked antenna made of feeding patch and radiating patch featuring cross recessed corners. Moreover, the corners of a radiating patch and the corners of its feeding patch are cut in opposite directions. The use of recessed corner patches result in improved cross-polarization. Improved cross-polarization leads to better isolation between radiating elements of an array antenna and to an antenna featuring improved isolation from its surroundings.
