Abstract: A method for detecting and evaluating a plane for recognition of an object includes detecting the object using a sensor disposed on a vehicle, the object being present in a direction of a relative direction of movement of the vehicle and the sensor being directed onto the plane. A distance of the sensor from at least one measuring point is determined using a control unit. A value of the determined distance is compared with a reference value so as to obtain a difference value. The difference value is delivered to an evaluation unit as at least one of an object, an obstacle, a hole, a floating particle, a defect in the plane and a measurement error.

  • Patent number: 7451020
Abstract: The invention relates to a control system (1) for a vehicle provided with an electronically controlled drive train (2) which comprises a steering system (6), a braking system (7) and a transmission unit (4). An operating unit (10) generates a motion vector (BV) based on a driver's wish (FW), from which control signals (SS) are generated by a control unit (12) for controlling the drive train (2). In order to simplify maneuvering, more particularly reversing, a trajectory calculator (13) is provided, said trajectory calculator calculating the trajectory of movement for the situation and position of the vehicle (3) on the basis of actual values that are detected by a status and position determining device (14) and on the basis of set values that can be inputted by means of a target input device (15).

  • Publication number: 20060111820
Abstract: In a control system for a vehicle equipped with an electronically actuable drive train, an operator control device generates a movement vector (from a driver request, and a control device generates control signals for actuating the drive train. A path computer calculates a movement path based on actual position/orientation values, and based on setpoint orientation and position values input via a destination-inputting device. The movement path includes a sequence of movement vectors which move the vehicle from its current actual orientation/position into the setpoint orientation and position when the drive train processes the movement vectors of the movement path. For this purpose, the path computer is coupled to the control device, in addition to the operator control device, via a common drive train interface in order to transmit the movement vectors.
