Abstract: A method of presenting information to a party through a messaging application is described. Responsive to receipt of a communication from a party (e.g., the first user), a reply is sent. The communication and the reply is presented in an interface to the sender. The messaging system determines matching content that is relevant to one or both of the communication and the reply and determines a quality of the match. Determining the quality of the match may include determining a score for an advertisement based on the advertisement's responsiveness to content identified in the reply message that was sent. Based on a determination that the quality is above a threshold, the matching content is presented along with the communication and the reply.
Abstract: In one aspect, a method includes receiving a query determined to be a question query that seeks an answer response and data identifying resources determined to be responsive to the query; identifying structured content set in a top-ranked subset of the resources, each structured content set being content arranged according to related attributes in one of the resources; for each identified structured content set, determining whether the query matches the structured content set based on terms of the query matching related attributes of the structured content set; selecting one of the structured content sets for which the query is determined to match; generating, from the selected structured content set, a structured fact set from the related attributes that matched the terms of the query; and providing the structured fact set with search results that identify the resources determined to be responsive to the query.

Abstract: This document describes techniques and systems that enable a smartphone-based radar system facilitating ease and accuracy of user interactions with displayed objects in an augmented-reality interface. The techniques and systems use a radar field to accurately determine three-dimensional (3D) gestures that can be used to interact with augmented-reality (AR) objects that are presented on a display of an electronic device, such as a smartphone. These techniques allow the user to make 3D gestures from a distance—the user does not have to hold the electronic device steady while touching the screen and the gestures do not obstruct the user's view of the AR objects presented on the display.

Abstract: This document describes authentication using an interactive cord. An interactive cord includes a cable, and a fabric cover that covers the cable. The fabric cover includes one or more conductive threads woven into the fabric cover to form one or more capacitive touchpoints which are configured to enable reception of touch input that causes a change in capacitance to the one or more conductive threads. The interactive cord can be used to authenticate a user. For example, rather than using a password entered into a computing device, a touch input pattern can be provided to interactive cord that is coupled to the computing device to authenticate the user.
Abstract: A computing system receives requests from client devices to process voice queries that have been detected in local environments of the client devices. The system identifies that a value that is based on a number of requests to process voice queries received by the system during a specified time interval satisfies one or more criteria. In response, the system triggers analysis of at least some of the requests received during the specified time interval to trigger analysis of at least some received requests to determine a set of requests that each identify a common voice query. The system can generate an electronic fingerprint that indicates a distinctive model of the common voice query. The fingerprint can then be used to detect an illegitimate voice query identified in a request from a client device at a later time.

Abstract: Systems and methods for presenting information in a header region of an application are provided. In some aspects, a URL is received in an omnibox of an application window of a computer. A page corresponding to the URL is presented in a page display region of the application window. The URL is presented in the omnibox. A collapsed form of the URL and connection information associated with the page are presented in a button of the application window adjacent to the omnibox. The collapsed form of the URL includes a representation of a top-level domain and a hierarchy of the URL. The collapsed form of the URL includes different text from the URL.

Abstract: Systems and methods for determining locations and configuring controllable devices are provided. Example systems and methods include determining a first location estimate for a computing device using a first interior location estimating technique. The example systems and method may also include determining a second location estimate for the computing device by refining the first location estimate using a second interior location estimating technique, the first interior location estimating technique being different than the second interior location estimating technique. The first interior location estimating technique may be based on round-trip time to multiple wireless communication devices. The second interior location estimating technique may be based on image data.
