Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage medium, for facilitating auto-completion of search queries in a group based document sharing environment. In one aspect, a method includes actions of maintaining a prefix index that includes prefix index entries. Each prefix index entry may include a prefix, a group identifier, and a portion of a document. Additional actions may include receiving input from a user that is associated with a search field, determining a user identifier associated with the user that submitted the received input, mapping the user identifier to a particular group identifier, obtaining one or multiple candidate query suggestions based on the received input and the prefix index, and selecting a subset of the candidate query suggestions based on the particular group identifier. Other actions may include providing the subset of candidate query suggestions to the user.

Abstract: A system and method is provided for displaying surfaces of an object from a vantage point different from the vantage point from which imagery of the object was captured. In some aspects, imagery may be generated for display by combining visual characteristics from multiple source images and applying greater weight to the visual characteristics of some of the source images relative to the other source images. The weight may be based on the orientation of the surface relative to the location from which the image was captured and the location from which the object will be displayed.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method of determining the relevance, to a user, of documents accessible over a computer network involves analyzing information relating to a first document, identifying a second document corresponding to the first document using a computer, obtaining information that indicates the relevance of a second document, determining the relevance of the first document using the information indicating relevance of the second document. The first document may be a mobile document, while the second may be a non-mobile document.

Abstract: Methods and systems for determining a user's steps in portable device include deriving amplitudes from raw sensor data; comparing the amplitudes to an amplitude threshold, and counting a step when one of the amplitudes exceeds the amplitude threshold to obtain a step count; determining a current gait type based on the step count; dynamically adjusting the amplitude threshold in order to reduce effects of swinging movements and false steps; and applying a post filter to the step count based on time between steps and a minimum number of prior consecutive steps to derive a filtered step count that reduces false readings due to short bursts of rapid movement by the user.

Abstract: A cloud-based file system receives a subscription request associated with a networked device and identifying a set of one or more resources of the cloud-based file system and a set of one or more resource modifications. The cloud-based file system determines whether the networked device is authorized to access the resource, and, if so, records a subscription based on the subscription request. In response to a user, an application, or other suitable entity making a modification in the set of modifications to a resource in the set of resources, the cloud-based file system generates a notification to the networked device and to other networked devices with subscriptions that include the modification to the resource. The notification may identify the subscription with which the notification is associated, provide information identifying the modification, or provide other suitable information.

Abstract: This document describes methodologies for an electronic programming guide with expanding cells for video preview. These techniques and apparatuses enable improved navigation for video and channel previewing based on gestures performed on a mobile device acting as a remote control to a remote display device. These techniques and apparatuses allow video preview of current program content over many channels with a simple and easy method to preview different channels. Further, these techniques and apparatuses can also be applied to view information regarding upcoming programs scheduled at a future time.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for cloud-based adaptive configuration and control of a network device include, detecting an access by a user through the network device to a cloud-based service; and responsive to the detected access, configuring the network device to be controlled by the user via a cloud-based configuration controller. In some implementations, a computer-implemented method includes determining that a shared album data structure is accessible by a device and includes references to album images. The device determines one or more suggested images from a collection of stored images associated with a user, based on determining sharing scores for the stored images. The sharing scores are based on comparing one or more characteristics of the stored images to one or more corresponding characteristics of the album images. The method includes causing display of the one or more suggested images by the device, receiving a selection of at least one selected image of the suggested images based on received user input, and causing an update of the shared album data structure with the at least one selected image to be accessible over a communication network by recipient users.

Each advertising unit includes at least one geolocation associated with an advertiser. At least one advertising unit is then placed on the first image. Finally, a second image is retrieved when a placed advertising unit is selected by the user. The second image is retrieved based on the geolocation associated with the placed advertising unit.

Abstract: Methods and systems for conveying locale information for an electronic device includes receiving, from a remote device and via a network interface of at least one network interfaces, a request for active or available locales for the electronic device. Conveying the locale information also includes sending, to the remote device and via the network interface, a message in a locale profile format including a list of available locales. The message includes a version field that indicates a version of schema used to transmit the list of available locales, an active local field that indicates a locale currently being used by the electronic device, and an available locales field that indicates which locales are available for use by the electronic device.
