  • Patent number: 5747712
Abstract: A peg for a stringed instrument has a winding shaft made up a base shaft portion having a free end and adjustable shaft portion. The adjustable shaft portion is in threaded engagement with the free end of the base shaft portion. The base shaft portion is connected with a worm gear, with the worm gear being connected to a knob for adjustment of the rotational position of the winding shaft. A fixing screw member is located in the base shaft portion, and is axially engageable with the bottom surface of the adjustable shaft portion. Accordingly, the position of the outer string winding surface of the adjustable shaft portion is axially adjustable, and is axially fixable by the fixing screw member.

  • Patent number: 5615462
Abstract: A connector for releasably connecting a harness to a stringed instrument. The connector includes an engaging member provided on terminal ends of the harness and a receiving member provided on opposite ends of the stringed instrument body. The connector is operated by rotation of a knob fixed on the engaging member to engage and release the receiving member. An insertion cylinder is provided on the engaging member and includes a pair of diametrically opposed engaging elements which are pivotally mounted therein. The engaging elements are dimensioned so as to engage a fitting groove on an inner peripheral wall of a receiving cylinder of the receiving member. The knob provided on the engaging member is limited to rotation through a predetermined angle. A rotatable shaft extends into the insertion cylinder and can be positioned to engage the engaging elements. The rotatable shaft has a lower cross-sectional shape which has a large diameter and a small diameter.

  • Patent number: 5481955
Abstract: A tremolo device for a stringed instrument includes internal walls of a string inserting hole and a through hole of a base communicating with the string inserting hole formed by sloped surfaces and along a direction of extension of a string. The string can be extended freely through the through hole and the string inserting hole without contact with the insides of such holes, so that the string can be tautly extended in a straight line between a string engaging part and a pedestal. Thus, it is possible to prevent strings from being broken due to frictional wear and habitual deformation due to continuous folding.

  • Patent number: 5465642
Abstract: A reinforcing member with a U-shaped cross section and an actuating rod are joined and assembled in parallel. A base end of the reinforcing member is fixed to a support, and an end part of the actuating rod is fitted to a threaded sleeve which is fitted to be freely rotatable to the support. Thus, the length of the actuating rod relative to the reinforcing member can be increased and decreased by rotation of the threaded sleeve. The actuating rod is provided with a pushing block having a pushing-up surface which comes into contact with the reinforcing member. A partly cutaway part, aligned with the pushing block and formed by a continuously arc-shaped edge, is provided on each side wall of the reinforcing member.

  • Patent number: 5458035
Abstract: An adjusting mechanism for a neck aligner in a stringed instrument includes a front block and a rear block arranged in parallel in an internal chamber in a neck. A threaded engaging block and a depressing block are provided between the pair of front and rear blocks. An end of a truss rod is inserted through the pair of front and rear blocks, and a threaded part thereof is threaded into a threaded tube at a rear side of the rear block. An adjust screw is inserted through the depressing block and is threaded into the threaded engaging block. Both opposite ends of the rear block and rear end surfaces of the depressing block and the threaded engaging block in contact therewith are formed as sloped surfaces. The threaded engaging block and the depressing block are caused to approach each other by operating the adjust screw, whereby the rear block is guided on the sloped surfaces to move away from the front block and the length of the truss rod in an elongated groove is reduced.

  • Patent number: 4901900
Abstract: A connector for a string instrument and a harness having a fixing member fixed to the body of the string instrument and an engaging member fastened to an end of the harness which can be removably connected to the fixing member. The engaging member is provided with an engaging chamber and the fixing member is provided with a protrusion which can be fitted into the engaging chamber. The engaging member is provided with at least two engaging pieces which are always energized by a resetting spring to engage with the protrusion of the engaging member which stays inside the engaging chamber and a manually-operated knob for disengaging the engaging pieces from the protrusion as required. The manually-operated knob is adapted to retract the engaging pieces against the resetting spring by manually rotating the knob in the circumferential direction.

  • Patent number: 4827825
Abstract: A tuning peg for stringed instruments having a core shaft which is rotated as a string spool shaft by a manually-operated knob and an outer sleeve which is externally mounted on the core shaft. The top surface of the core shaft is formed as a string receiving surface and at least the lower part of the core shaft is formed as a threaded pulling part. At least the lower part of the outer sleeve is made as an internal thread part which engages with the threaded pulling of the core shaft and the trunk part of the outer sleeve is provided with a string passing hole which is open in the orthogonal direction to the axis of the outer sleeve and the ceiling surface of the string passing hole inside the outer sleeve is formed as a string pushing surface. When a string is passed through the string passing hole and the knob is rotated, the outer sleeve lowers and the string pushing surface pushes the string onto the string receiving surface.
