Patents Assigned to Goyen Controls Co. Pty Ltd
  • Patent number: 9239119
Abstract: There is disclosed a diaphragm for a high pressure gas diaphragm valve. The diaphragm comprises a sealing body defining a sealing face for seating against a valve seat of the valve to close the valve; an outer flange for attaching the diaphragm to the valve, the outer flange defining a flange plane; and a deformable web that extends between the outer flange and the sealing body, the deformable web including a gusset that has at least one convolute portion. The gusset is deformable to allow the sealing body to move between a natural configuration in which the sealing body is on a first side of the flange plane, and a raised configuration in which at least part of the sealing body is on the opposing side of the flange plane, and wherein the at least one convolute portion biases the sealing body towards the natural configuration.

  • Patent number: 8011639
Abstract: A valve of the invention includes a valve body having an inlet, an outlet, and a flow passage connecting the inlet and outlet, the inlet, the outlet and the flow passage being in general axial alignment within the valve body. A valve seat surrounds the flow passage and a valve closure member is movable towards and away from the valve seat to close and open the valve respectively. The valve closure member is a poppet-type closure member axially mounted to a stem. The stem has a plurality of pistons spaced apart along the length thereof, and the valve body has a plurality of cylinders fixed relative thereto, the pistons each being slidable in a respective cylinder. The valve closure member is movable by varying the pressure in the cylinders. Preferably each of the cylinders has an outlet port through a wall thereof which is exposed when the closure member has moved towards or into a fully open position, pressure within said cylinders dissipating through those outlet ports when the outlet ports are exposed.

  • Patent number: 7419132
Abstract: A bladder valve (10) is disclosed which comprises a valve body (12) having an inlet (16), an outlet (14) and a flow passage (17) connecting the inlet (16) and the outlet (14). The bladder valve (10) also includes a valve seat (45) surrounding the flow passage (17) and an inflatable bladder (22) mounted in the flow passage (17) and being connectable to a source of fluid under pressure in use. The bladder (22) is mounted on a bladder support member (34) which provides support for the bladder when in its deflated condition, and through which inflation passages (42) pass for the inflation and deflation of the bladder. The bladder (22) is designed to collapse or deflate rapidly in order to open the valve, enabling the valve to be used in applications such as reverse pulse cleaning of filter elements.

  • Patent number: 7063731
Abstract: The application discloses several methods of detecting particles moving in a gas flow, a detection means (70), a method of improving the linearity of the signal produced by a triboelectric particle detector, a method to test a signal path of an emission monitor, an emission monitor for detecting particles, and a method of detecting faults in a triboelectric probe of system for detecting particles entrained in a gas flow. The particle detection means (70) includes a gas flow deflection means (40) having an upstream face (43) and a downstream face (45) and a detector (42, 44) associated exclusively with the downstream face (45). Deflecting the gas flow creates vortices that have little effect on the large particles, but cause the small particles to move close to the detectors on the downstream face. Therefore the downstream detectors (42, 44) are particularly sensitive to light particles. The method improves of small particles and provides accurate particle counts.

  • Patent number: 6129852
Abstract: The present invention relates to flow control devices (4) for use with cartridge filter cleaning systems. The flow control device (4) includes a cylindrical portion (8) which extends away from a conical portion (6). When the device (4) is used with a nozzle (9) attached to a blow tube (13) the device (4) will uniformly clean a dirty cartridge filter (5). The advantage of the invention is that the device (4) can be used in the current range of air flow rates and nozzle sizes that are used in the cartridge cleaning industry. Whereas the prior art systems (7) show deficient performance when used across the full range of air flow rates currently applicable in industry.

  • Patent number: 5887797
Abstract: A reverse pulse cleaning system for use in a bag house filter including a blow tube (2) having outlet holes (3) to direct high velocity air pulses into filter bags to be cleaned. The systems includes a nozzle (1) having a control formation between the inlet and outlet ends of the nozzle. The control formation determines air flow characteristics such as velocity and direction of flow emerging from the outlet holes (3) and can improve uniformity and effectiveness of filter bag cleaning. A clampable and releasable fixing of the nozzle (1) to the blow tube allows replacement of the control formation with one of different characteristics during manufacturing or insitu fine tuning. The fixing allows the precise alignment of nozzles (1) on assembly which reduces the need for costly precision in forming the blow tube outlet holes (3).
