    Abstract: Using a differential transmission, a single stage, high speed turbo-charger-type compressor is driven by a variable speed electric motor at 30,000 revolutions per minute or greater to deliver compressed air to the engine, and the speed of the motor is controlled so as to vary the speed of the compressor within this range, commensurate with the speed of the engine.
