Abstract: A child containment system has a child containment structure with a bottom and a perimeter wall surrounding the bottom. A bassinet has an infant support surface and a surrounding wall around the infant support surface. The bassinet can be mounted to the child containment structure with the infant support surface elevated above the bottom of the child containment structure. An infant support unit can have a frame, a bed supported by the frame, and legs that extend from one end of the infant support unit to the distal second end. The infant support unit is configured for use in a first operational mode in which the infant support unit at least partially positioned within the child containment structure with the bed overlying the bassinet's infant support surface, and with a portion of the legs contacting the bassinet's infant support surface.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for a foldable child containment system can include an infant or child's playard. The playard can include a top rail support assembly and a bottom rail support assembly defining the top and bottom of a playard enclosure. A hub assembly can be coupled to the bottom rail support assembly. Corner posts can operably couple the top rail support assembly to the bottom rail support assembly. The top rail support assembly can include one or more rail locking mechanisms to lock and unlock a pair of top rail members from folding. Release mechanisms can be coupled to a rail locking mechanism and to the bottom rail support assembly. When the hub is lifted, the bottom rail support assembly rotates with respect to the corner posts and creates a tension in the release mechanisms that adjusts the rail locking mechanism from locked to unlocked configuration.

Abstract: A convertible child seat has a frame assembly and a seat structure supported by the frame assembly. The seat structure defines a seating surface and is movable between at least an inclined seating position and a reclined sleeping position. A top tube assembly is coupled to a portion of the convertible child seat and is positioned above the seat structure spaced from the seating surface. The top tube assembly moves in concert with the seat structure when the seat structure is repositioned between the inclined seating position and the reclined sleeping position.
Abstract: A harness tensioner for a child safety seat has a lower lever part pivotable about an axis and an upper lever part above the lower lever part and pivotable about a different axis. A lower portion of the upper lever part contacts with an upper portion of the lower lever part. Harness straps of a child safety seat are coupled to the upper lever part. Upon an impact event, the lower part is moved against a biasing force, which in turn moves the upper part to apply rearward tension to the harness straps.
Abstract: A child booster seat has a base assembly, a seat carried by part of the base assembly, and an actuator. The seat can swiveled between at least two different rotational seat facing orientations and can be selectively latched in either one of the at least two different seat facing orientations. The seat can be unlatched using one hand by moving the actuator and can be reoriented by swiveling the seat using the same one hand.

Abstract: An infant car seat base has a body, a belt path on the body configured to accept a base anchoring strap there along, and a lock-off arm coupled to the body. The lock-off arm is movable between a blocking position and a lock-off position. The lock-off arm, when in the lock-off position, permits a child seat to be attached to the body. The lock-off arm, when in the blocking position, blocks, inhibits, or prevents attachment of the child seat to the body. A base anchoring strap is captured between the lock-off arm and the body of the base when the base is mounted and secured to a vehicle seat.
Abstract: A child containment system has a child containment structure with a bottom, a top rail, and a surrounding side wall that can be arranged to extend between the bottom and the top rail. An infant sleeping apparatus has a fabric bed and a frame. A connector arrangement includes at least one connector carried on a portion of the child containment system and at least one connector part carried on the infant sleeping apparatus. The infant sleeping apparatus is removably mountable to the child containment structure with the fabric bed above the bottom and with the connector part coupled to the connector at a position that is below the top rail.

Abstract: A child seat has a seat bottom and a seat back pivotally joined to the seat bottom at a seat bight. The seat back and seat bottom are movable between a toddler seat position with the seat back raised to a non-parallel orientation relative to the seat bottom and a lie flat position with the seat back lowered to a generally parallel orientation relative to the seat bottom. A bassinet rail assembly has a foot rail portion and a head rail portion and is able to move to a bassinet wall configuration around a perimeter of and elevated above the child seat when the seat back is in the lie flat position.

Abstract: A child safety seat has a seat bottom, a seat back coupled to the seat bottom at a seat bight region, and a seating surface defined by the seat bottom and seat back to support a child occupant. A structural element is coupled to the seat bottom, the seat back, or both. A bumper has a substantially rigid component or portion and is mounted to the structural element and protrudes from a side of the child safety seat. The bumper is positioned to redirect energy from a side impact with the child safety seat away from the seat back, the seat bottom, or both and to the structural element.

Abstract: A child safety seat has a seat shell with a seat back portion, a seat bottom portion, and a seating surface. A track is provided on the child safety seat. A slot has a slot length along the track and a slot width defined between two parts of the track. An anchor strap has a belt, two anchoring connectors coupled to and spaced apart along the belt, and a central section between the two anchoring connectors. The central section has a thickness less than the slot width and captured in the slot between the two parts of the track. The two anchoring connectors are sized larger than the slot width thereby preventing removal of the anchor strap from the child safety seat. The anchor strap can slide along the slot length between at least a forward facing anchor position and a rear facing anchor position on the seat shell.
