  • Patent number: 6666320
Abstract: The invention comprises a slat conveyor for handling ice cream products (6) which are immersed for some time in processing vessels. Each slat (9) in the conveyor consists of an upper part (33) supported at a fixed height in the frame (40) of the machine and a lower part (34) that may be lifted and lowered by means of a lifting beam (41). The lower part (34) of the slat is supported by individually coupling and uncoupling means (44, 48). The means (44) are connected with the lifting beam (41) and the means (48) are connected with the frame. By activating and deactivating the means (44, 48) together with the lifting beam (41) it is possible to keep the products (6) in a raised position or in a lowered position throughout one or more successive operations. Hereby the process period may easily be varied and the slat conveyor can readily be adapted to different products just by changing the programming of the control unit for the coupling means (44, 48) and the lifting beam (41).

  • Patent number: 5911813
Abstract: A dispenser (1) for filling containers with confectionery such as ice cream includes a plurality of filler nozzles (2) with inlet openings (27, 28) and nozzle tips (3, 7), in each filler nozzle including a filler piston (9) displaceable in a filler housing (10). The filler housing and the filler piston are produced from a stainless steel with a treatment so that these surfaces can move together without tearing and at the same time are produced with such tolerances that the gap formed between the piston and the housing is impermeable to the confectionery but not impermeable to liquid. A hose/pipe arrangement (40) for detergent is connectable with the inlet openings (27, 28) and the nozzle tips (37) for flushing and cleaning, the detergent passing through the gap between the piston (9) and the housing (10) to exit through a hollow space (50) and be flushed by the detergent introduced from at least one nozzle tip (37). Owing to this, complete flushing/cleaning of the nozzle arrangement (1) is obtained.

  • Patent number: 5650087
Abstract: A metal mould for making a frozen confectionery product is made of a titanium-containing materials, the mould being produced by cold-working a sheet-formed blank, either by deep-drawing or by pressing two half shells which are subsequently welded together. By using titanium for the ice lolly moulds, it is possible to avoid the use of poisonous inhibitors, without any risk of corrosion on the moulds. There is a considerable risk of corrosion on the moulds as the moulds used in the production of frozen confectionery products are subjected to freezing baths with strong saline solutions. When using titanium material for making the metal moulds, it is further possible to perform stress-relieving annealing at a lower temperature than was formerly possible when the moulds were made of stainless steel.
