  • Patent number: 6666320
Abstract: The invention comprises a slat conveyor for handling ice cream products (6) which are immersed for some time in processing vessels. Each slat (9) in the conveyor consists of an upper part (33) supported at a fixed height in the frame (40) of the machine and a lower part (34) that may be lifted and lowered by means of a lifting beam (41). The lower part (34) of the slat is supported by individually coupling and uncoupling means (44, 48). The means (44) are connected with the lifting beam (41) and the means (48) are connected with the frame. By activating and deactivating the means (44, 48) together with the lifting beam (41) it is possible to keep the products (6) in a raised position or in a lowered position throughout one or more successive operations. Hereby the process period may easily be varied and the slat conveyor can readily be adapted to different products just by changing the programming of the control unit for the coupling means (44, 48) and the lifting beam (41).

  • Patent number: 5911813
Abstract: A dispenser (1) for filling containers with confectionery such as ice cream includes a plurality of filler nozzles (2) with inlet openings (27, 28) and nozzle tips (3, 7), in each filler nozzle including a filler piston (9) displaceable in a filler housing (10). The filler housing and the filler piston are produced from a stainless steel with a treatment so that these surfaces can move together without tearing and at the same time are produced with such tolerances that the gap formed between the piston and the housing is impermeable to the confectionery but not impermeable to liquid. A hose/pipe arrangement (40) for detergent is connectable with the inlet openings (27, 28) and the nozzle tips (37) for flushing and cleaning, the detergent passing through the gap between the piston (9) and the housing (10) to exit through a hollow space (50) and be flushed by the detergent introduced from at least one nozzle tip (37). Owing to this, complete flushing/cleaning of the nozzle arrangement (1) is obtained.

  • Patent number: 5650087
Abstract: A metal mould for making a frozen confectionery product is made of a titanium-containing materials, the mould being produced by cold-working a sheet-formed blank, either by deep-drawing or by pressing two half shells which are subsequently welded together. By using titanium for the ice lolly moulds, it is possible to avoid the use of poisonous inhibitors, without any risk of corrosion on the moulds. There is a considerable risk of corrosion on the moulds as the moulds used in the production of frozen confectionery products are subjected to freezing baths with strong saline solutions. When using titanium material for making the metal moulds, it is further possible to perform stress-relieving annealing at a lower temperature than was formerly possible when the moulds were made of stainless steel.

  • Patent number: 4751806
Abstract: A production apparatus comprises a step-wise driven conveyor adapted to receive articles to be subjected to different operations. Along the conveyor operative devices are arranged for carrying out the different operations to which the articles are to be subjected. The operative devices having comparatively short operation periods are stationarily arranged along the conveyor, whereas at least two operative devices having comparatively long operation periods, are movably arranged along the conveyor so as to follow the conveyor while the conveyor makes at least one step and then to be moved one such step opposite to the direction of movement of the conveyor. By such doubling of the operative device or devices having long operation periods, an increased capacity of the production apparatus is achieved. The production apparatus can be used in producing ice cream coronets.

  • Patent number: 4410080
Abstract: An end reversing roller for a conveyor band of wire mesh is arranged at the delivery end of a freezing canal. The end reversing roller is provided with axially extending slats. The outer surfaces of the slats are spaced from the shaft of the reversing roller, a distance which is greater than the radius of the cylindrical surface which the wire mesh would otherwise follow. The outer surfaces of the slats will therefore engage the inner surface of the wire mesh whereby the wire mesh is caused to expand. Accordingly, relative movement occurs between the wire mesh and the material or the product which have been frozen in the freezing apparatus, and an effective breaking-off of the frozen material or the frozen product with respect to the wire mesh is effected.

  • Patent number: 4396367
Abstract: For picking up ice lollies which have been frozen in split moulds which are adapted to be inserted into rows of freezing pockets of an ice-lolly machine, an appartus is used comprising two rods. One of the rods is connected with one of the mould parts in each of the freezing pockets, and the other rod is connected with the other mould part in the freezing pocket. Means are arranged at the ends of each rod for engaging guiding means at a pick-up station. The guiding means are adapted for moving the rods away from each other after withdrawal of the lower moulds in question and for moving the rods towards each other after the ice lollies have been removed, and for inserting the moulds in the row of freezing pockets. The apparatus automaticizes the withdrawal and the insertion of the moulds in such a way that such withdrawal and insertion and the removal of the ice lollies may be carried out during the same working operation which is used by picking up ice lollies in normal automatic ice-lolly freezing machines.
