  • Patent number: 11651933
Abstract: A cathode holding assembly to be mounted on an arc chamber support of an ion implanter includes a cathode holding plate, an insulator block, and a shield cap. The cathode holding plate has a protruding outer rib towards the shield cap and an opening with a protruding inner rib. A protrusion of the insulator block passes through the opening of the cathode holding plate. The insulator block abuts the protruding inner rib of the opening of the cathode holding plate at an edge of the insulator block to precisely fit the insulator block into the opening of the cathode holding plate. The shield cap is arranged to a side of the insulator block opposing the protrusion. A gap extends between the cathode holding plate and the shield cap, then between the cathode holding plate and the insulator block where it ends.

  • Patent number: 9903016
Abstract: In systems where insulating deposits form during normal operation, electrodes are configured with a preformed dielectric thereon, wherein the preformed dielectric is formed with a geometric feature that preforms a triple junction. • Patent number: 8686640
Abstract: An ion beam processing system includes a plasma generator with a magnetic flood system. Magnets are provided for reducing the transverse magnetic field in the ion beam transport region of the plasma flood device so as to control charging damage or to neutralize beam space charge in ion beam processing and semiconductor ion implantation. The system is especially adapted for beam lines with ribbon beams.

  • Patent number: 6122351
Abstract: A method and system that assists medical practitioners who treat or prescribe treatment of patients having a medical condition which requires long-term profiling of medical data taken from the patient's body. Medical practitioners, their assistants, and patients take medical readings of predetermined medically important variables. These readings are stored as raw data in a data receptacle such as a smart card or in a portable medical instrument, then input into a remote computer, or the raw data is manually entered into a remote computer. The remote computer then connects with a primary computer using a communications connection and transmits the raw data to the primary computer system which maintains a database of patients and their medical readings. The communications connection can be any means of connecting two computers for communication therebetween but is preferably an Internet connection wherein the remote computer is operated as a web client and the primary computer is operated as a web server.

  • Patent number: 5793870
Abstract: This invention relates to a system and method for converting encryption data into at least one preselected image in a manner such that, for example, the entity converting the encryption data into the at least one preselected image is not privy to the meaning or value of the sensitive information. The system and method comprises a display system having an encryption record for enabling a user to separate title and label information from data information and to encrypt the data information into a predetermined encrypted data set or format. The display system also includes an image area portion having a plurality of predetermined images for selecting at least one visual image to represent the predetermined encrypted data set. A converter may also be provided for converting the predetermined encrypted data set into the at least one visual image.

  • Patent number: 5645178
Abstract: This invention relates to a method and apparatus for storing and hanging various articles. The storage and hanging system comprises an article receiver which is adjustable secured to a support and which is adjustable to a plurality of different positions such that articles may be hung on one or more rails of the receiver. Subsequently, the article receiver may be collapsed to a closed position so that the stored articles consume a relatively small amount of space. The system is convenient in that it provides a combination of storage containers, and jewelry clips and other clips, along with a mirror which is particularly useful when the system is being used, for example, at a school, office or even during traveling. The system is conveniently designed to be hung on a door or other suitable surface, but it is contemplated that the support for the article receiver may be mounted directly to a surface.

  • Patent number: 5545257
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a system and method for providing a plasma flood having a low electron temperature to a semiconductor target region during an ion implantation process. The plasma generator providing the plasma is coupled to a magnetic filter which allows ions and low energy electrons to pass therethrough while retaining captive the primary or high energy electrons. The ions and low energy electrons form a "cold plasma" which is diffused in the region of the process surface while the ion implantation process takes place.

  • Patent number: 5217232
Abstract: A segmented seal for a rotating member such as a shaft of a gas turbine engine. The seal includes a housing disposed about the shaft which housing receives a seal member formed from a suitable material such as carbon or ceramic having a bore receiving a shaft defining a shaft interface. The seal is axially restrained within the housing. A thermal control member extends annularly around the shaft and engages a surface of the seal. The thermal control member has a coefficient of expansion greater than that of the seal so that upon heating, the thermal control member will exert a force on the seal to lift the seal from the shaft so that the seal is self-adjusting to accommodate varying operating speeds and temperatures.

  • Patent number: 5014999
Abstract: A self aligning ring seal for sealing a rotating member such as a shaft of a gas turbine relative to the housing. The ring seal includes a housing retaining a static, resilient seal. A seal plate engages the resilient seal and the seal plate has a curved peripheral edge which permits movement of the seal plate relative to the housing. An annular ring seal assembly extends about the shaft preferably of a carbon or other temperature-resistant material held in compression by an outer compressing ring. The ring seal assembly has a sealing face engaging the seal plate. In the event of shaft misalignment, the sealing faces of the seal plate and ring seal assembly remain in substantially full sealing contact with the misalignment being translated to the static seal.
