Abstract: A parking guidance system and a method for allocating a parking space for a vehicle and for navigating the vehicle to the parking space are provided. The system has a detection unit for detecting an occupancy state of a parking space and/or a parking area containing a plurality of parking spaces, at least one mobile terminal with which a request from at least one vehicle driver for a parking space for his vehicle to reach a destination can be transmitted to the parking guidance system, which request comprises instantaneous position data of the vehicle. The parking guidance system is designed to select an available parking space in accordance with the request and to transmit a selection suggestion for a parking space to the mobile terminal and comprises a navigation system designed to determine a route from the location of the vehicle at the time of the parking space request to the available parking space.

Abstract: A shipment distribution system and method are presented. The system includes a plurality of goods shipments, one or more delivery vehicles, a tour planning system and a navigation system operating in each delivery vehicle and communicatively linked to the tour planning system. Each goods shipment has a destination address for delivery. Each of the delivery vehicles has a cargo area divided into loading zones. The tour planning system stores a volume of the cargo area of each delivery vehicle. The tour planning system transmits to the navigation system calculated tour routes to deliver each of the goods shipments to corresponding destination addresses according to the positions of the goods shipments in the cargo area and the destination address. Upon arrival at the destination address for each goods shipment, the tour planning system indicates the loading zone in the cargo area storing the goods shipment for delivery.

Abstract: A system and a method for reducing delays in road traffic is presented. The system and the method for reducing delays in road traffic, comprises a number of controllable traffic lights, at least one computer system for controlling the traffic lights, and at least one navigation system located in a vehicle and communicatively linked to the at least one computer system. The at least one navigation system is designed to transmit route data pertaining to the routes used to the at least one computer system. The computer system is designed to calculate vehicle arrival times at the controllable traffic lights, and additionally is designed to transmit request data based on the arrival times to the controllable traffic lights. The controllable traffic lights are switched under consideration of the request data to positively influence vehicle journey times and/or routes.
