Patents Assigned to Gravity Guidance, Inc.
  • Patent number: 4534554
Abstract: A tilt bed exercise device for rotating a human into inverted posture is provided with a pair of pivot bearings holding a rotatable tilt bed comprising a human torso conforming support with a beam extending therefrom and terminating in a rail canted at an angle wherein the proximal end of the rail is anterior of the user's ankles and the distal end is posterior to the user's ankles. A foot supporting means is slidably attached to the canted rail with selectable fixed locations suitable for different size humans. The user's ankles are held by supporting means including a hook on each ankle support engageable with the foot supporting means. A pivot stop is provided for the tilt bed wherein the foot supporting means is rotated past the vertical plane through the axis of the pivot bearings.

  • Patent number: 4529191
Abstract: The horizontal bar includes tubular members freely telescopically interconnected having lateral extending ends depending to outward facing U-shaped members having sufficient width to be disposed about the respective sides of a doorway, and to have frictional engagement therewith. A pivotal link is attached to the base of each U-shaped member and is slidably engaged with a respective wedge-shaped receiving bracket at each side of the doorway. The pivotal links may be engaged with the respective receiving brackets in a depending orientation for a lower position of the horizontal bar or may be engaged with the brackets in an upstanding orientation for a higher position of the horizontal bar.

  • Patent number: 4513961
Abstract: An improvement in a toggle bar for brachiation in place by the upper limbs for purposes of exercise and health, including an elongated tubular middle-section bar having a handle defining an enclosed opening mounted upon both ends. A J-shaped hook is mounted at the mid-section of the bar for reception of a suspended support whereby the bar is pivotally movable with respect thereto. In modification, a toggle bar wherein the entire bar is made from one continuous tubular bar.

  • Patent number: 4502682
Abstract: A full body weight traction device for rotating a human into inverted posture comprising generally U-shaped front and rear legs with the bases of the U-shapes resting on the floor and having upstanding sides terminating in pivot bearings, a shorter U-shaped trunion having upstanding sides also terminating in pivot bearings and having the base of its U attached to a tilt bed including a human torso supporting means and an elongated rail extending between the ankles of a user. The respective pivot bearings on each side of the front and rear legs and the trunion are pivotally connected by a pivot pin, permitting rotation of the tilt bed and folding of the legs for storage. The rail is provided with a hinge and lock which permits the rail to fold against the torso supporting means, whereby the tilt bed and legs fold into a configuration about the same length as the legs.
