A camera is mounted to at least one of the wheeled chassis and the body so that a field of view of the camera includes a tractor when the tractor is operatively coupled to the wheeled chassis.

Abstract: An aerodynamic fairing assembly for attachment to a trailer of a tractor-trailer. The aerodynamic fairing assembly may comprise a front skirt fairing and a rear skirt comprising a transition. The transition may extend outwardly of the side skirt fairing at a distance from the centerline of the trailer. The side skirt faring and rear skirt fairing are coupled to the trailer by one or more struts.

Abstract: A trailer locking assembly for locking a door of a trailer includes a lock rod pivoting about its axis of elongation within an upper and a lower bracket. A top and bottom cam attach to the top and bottom of the lock rod, respectively, and the top and bottom cams are configured to engage with corresponding keepers. A handle attached to the bottom cam beneath the door is configured to engage with a first latch assembly. The latch assembly may be configured to be released from an interior of the trailer. The first latch assembly may be attached to the lower bracket. The locking assembly may have a second latch assembly for holding the door open.

Abstract: An upper coupler for a semi-trailer has a generally planar bottom plate. A kingpin attaches thereto to couple with a fifth wheel of a tractor. A reinforcement member extends across a width of the bottom plate to reduce bending of the bottom plate as it rests on the fifth wheel of the tractor. Along the reinforcement member's length, the reinforcement member has varying second moments of area taken in cross sections perpendicular to the reinforcement member's length.

Abstract: A semi-trailer has a rear impact guard including an elongated horizontal member that attaches to a trailer by a pair of vertical guards. The horizontal member may have a top surface, a bottom surface, and a leading edge from which a surface of the guard member extends rearward to the top or bottom surface. The rear impact guard may include a pair of gussets that extend from the vertical guards. Each gusset may include a main generally planar portion, a first stiffening flange perpendicular to the main portion, and a second stiffening flange perpendicular to the first stiffening flange.

Abstract: A method of making at least partially foam-filled sandwich panels includes providing a panel shell, moving at least one of a portion of a first and/or second panel facer or a side member away from the panel volume, thereby defining an opening between the volume and an exterior area. A dispenser proximate the opening moves across at least a portion of the opening while dispensing an amount of a foam agent into the volume through the opening. A press has three platens, a third platen of which is secured to at least one of a portion of the first and/or second facer and the at least one side member and is moveable with respect to the first platen and the second platen in response to a control system.

Abstract: A thermal insulated composite wall panel for use in insulated trailers, containers and insulated compartments, including a first liner panel, a second liner panel having a layer of fibers and at least one structural polymer resin layer disposed coplanar to and bonded with the layer of fibers, thereby forming a laminate liner panel, and an insulated core layer disposed intermediate to and bonded with the first and the second liner panels. The layer of fibers is adjacent the insulated core layer and is lofted prior to being bonded to the insulated core layer.

Abstract: A cargo compartment for use with a motorized vehicle, and a vehicle having a cargo compartment, have a floor, a roof, a first side wall, and a second side wall. Each side wall extends between the floor and the roof, defining intersections therebetween. A molding assembly is disposed in the intersection and has an elongated back portion and an elongated cover portion, so that the cover portion is disposed between the back portion and an interior cargo compartment.
