Abstract: The invention provides a rope having a central strand and a plurality of outer strands extending helically about the central strand. Each of the outer strands consists of a plurality of elements in a helical wrap, at least some of these elements having a core of synthetic plastic filaments extending generally in parallel with one another and a sheath about the core containing the filaments. The invention also provides a method of making the rope.

Abstract: The invention provides an improved tray of the type used in dishwashers. The tray has a floor, side and end walls and fingers upstanding from the floor which are formed integrally from rods forming the floor. The tray has longitudinal rods in two groups, the first group having ends upstanding in the end walls and the second group extending in side walls and having end portions extending in the end walls orthogonally with respect to the upstanding portions of the first group. Apparatus for making the tray and a method of manufacture are also disclosed.

Abstract: The invention provides an insert for use in retaining an end portion of a cable in a socket. The insert has first and second ends and defines a central opening extending between the ends. A portion of the opening adjacent the first end of the insert has a diameter which forms a loose fit on the center wire of the cable, and the remainder of the opening is at least as large as this diameter so that during assembly a filler material can be entered into space around the center wire in the opening. The invention also provides an end assembly on a cable using the insert.
