  • Publication number: 20220267960
Abstract: The present disclosure describes methods of treating cellulosic materials with barrier coating compositions that allow for modifications of surfaces, including making such surfaces exhibit barrier functions such as oil and grease resistance, water resistance and the like. The methods as disclosed provide combining at least one saccharide fatty acid ester (SFAE) with polymers and applying such combinations on substrates including cellulose-based materials. Compositions comprising combinations of SFAE and polymers are also disclosed, including the use of such compositions to reduce blocking effects of said polymers without affecting the barrier performance or folding of articles of manufacture coated with said compositions. In addition, blocking ratings data for SFAE-polymer compositions may be used to identify conditions under which adhesive properties may be exploited to produce compositions that allow for effective heat sealing of articles of manufacture.

  • Patent number: 11279189
Abstract: A walking beam suspension for use with an agricultural vehicle or robot having a chassis and a plurality of wheels on opposite sides of the chassis. The walking beam suspension generally includes first and second walking beams pivotably connected to the opposite sides of the chassis and a dynamic coupling connected between the walking beams and the chassis. As the vehicle traverses the surface the wheels encounter deviations. The walking beams pivot relative to each other and to the chassis to maintain the wheels in contact with the surface. The dynamic coupling dynamically extends and retracts connections between the walking beams and dynamically pivots and linearly moves a connection to the chassis to reduce the transfer of movement caused by the deviations to the chassis.

  • Publication number: 20210023472
Abstract: Commercially beneficial carbon-containing fractions can be recovered from hydrothermal liquefaction reactions in various types of processors. Feedstock slurry from waste solids is placed into a pressurized processor where it is maintained at temperature and pressure for a predetermined period. On discharge from the processor the processed discharge is separated into liquid and solid fractions. Gaseous fractions including carbon dioxide can also be removed or off-taken from the processor. New molecular structures are created in this reaction, resulting in fractions including biogas, biofuels, biosolids and biocrude. Silica, phosphates, potash and low concentration nitrogen based fertilizer, along with carbonaceous material can also be recovered.

  • Patent number: 10491069
Abstract: An electric machine employs laminated sheets windings (LSWs) and permanent magnets which rotate about the LSWs. A ‘radial’ embodiment employs magnets which are magnetized radially and LSWs laid parallel to the rotation axis. An ‘axial’ embodiment uses axially magnetized magnets with LSWs laid radially in the plane of the motor. The magnets may be arranged as Halbach arrays. Magnets and LSWs are arranged concentrically with an air gap therebetween; the motor may employ “Large Air Gap Electric Ring” (LAGER) technology. The laminated sheets form a continuous stack of series-connected concentric metal layers; dielectric layers insulate each metal layer from its adjacent layers. Cuts arranged periodically around each LSW run parallel to the rotation axis and extend through all of the metal layers, with adjacent cuts originating on opposite sides of the LSW such that they form a serpentine path for current to flow as it flows around the winding.

  • Patent number: 10354938
Abstract: A novel heat sinking technology, uniquely adaptive to LED lighting devices in a generally LED array format containing multiple openings on said heat sink's base portions and optionally fin portions providing “short path cooling” technology. The “short path cooling” technology is thoroughly taught with multiple examples. Also taught, are methods of heat sink area maintenance when said openings are placed on said heat sinks. Indeed, even surface area increases are shown to be possible when multiple openings are placed on said heat sinks. Lastly, other non-LED semiconductor cooling is discussed and illustrated in various figures using said “short path cooling” technology.
