  • Patent number: 9488411
Abstract: A method and device for drying sheets is described. The sheets are guided through a drier divided into drying chambers and brought in contact with the drying air by means of impinging jet aeration. The impinging-jet aeration utilizes cross-aerated nozzle boxes and the main drying stage exhaust air is introduced in the pressure chamber of one or more drying chambers in the first half of the final drying stage. Pan of the exhaust air in the recirculated-air operation is used for drying in the drying chamber and part of the exhaust air is introduced into the suction chamber of the respective subsequent drying chamber. The exhaust air collectively passes through the final drying stage in this manner, and the exhaust air from one or more drying chambers in the second half of said stage is extracted at a significantly lower temperature.

  • Patent number: 8793897
Abstract: In a process for the continuous conditioning of gypsum plaster, the gypsum plaster is passed from a calcination facility connected upstream to a gypsum plaster cooler in the form of particles. In the gypsum plaster cooler, soluble calcium sulphate anhydrite is initially converted to calcium sulphate hemi-hydrate and calcium sulphate dihydrate to calcium sulphate hemi-hydrate, and crystal defects are eliminated. Subsequently, the gypsum plaster is brought into contact with ambient air and dehumidified by the latter and thereby simultaneously cooled indirectly.

  • Patent number: 7951352
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for producing alpha-calcium sulfate hemihydrate from calcium dihydrate. Said method has the following features: a) calcium dihydrate is fed to an agitated autoclave (1); b) the agitated autoclave (1) is indirectly heated; c) water is added and incorporated in a controlled manner; d) the feedstock is prevented from adhering to surfaces of the reaction chamber by means of moved chains (3) that are mounted on the paddles and/or the drive shaft (16) of the agitated autoclave (1); e) the pressure in the reaction chamber is regulated at intervals or in a continuous manner by discharging vapor when a certain pressure has been reached in the interior, the vapor being conducted via a centrifugal separator (17) and a control valve (18); f) cold air is delivered for residual drying purposes; g) the process material is removed. Also disclosed is a corresponding apparatus for carrying out said method.

  • Publication number: 20080092989
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for loading a device for eccentrically slicing veneering. Known slicing devices are problematic in that the process for loading the same with a block of wood is relatively time-consuming and at least partly difficult to perform. The aim of the invention is thus to improve one such slicing device in such a way that the loading process is simplified and accelerated. To this end, a device for milling (2) grooves (3) comprises a measuring device (14) which is used to determine the cross-section of the block of wood (4); the position of the grooves (3) and the cross-section of the block of wood (4) can be recorded as data; and a grip device (17) and a tool carriage (5) of the slicing device (1) can be controlled according to the data in such a way that the block of wood (4) can be placed in the slicing device (1) and the tool carriage (5) is positioned in relation to the block of wood (4) in a starting position for the slicing.

  • Patent number: 7100650
Abstract: The problem in previously known stay log-type veneer slicers in which a large block of wood is directed in an eccentrically rotating manner past a knife consists of the fact that a remaining block that cannot be sliced has to be removed by hand from a girder structure on which the block is mounted. Hence, the downtime for removing the remaining block and mounting a new block of wood is relatively long. The aim of the invention is therefore to create a stay log-type veneer slicer that has a reduced downtime. Said aim is achieved by disposing means for discarding the block of wood (16) and a device for automatically conveying away the discarded block of wood on the girder structure (12).

  • Patent number: 6913049
Abstract: The invention relates to a veneer slicing machine. The output of prior art veneer slicing machines is limited by virtue of the fact that the slideways quickly heat up at a maximum stroke rate. As a result, the maximum permissible temperature of 120° C. is quickly reached thereby making it necessary to shut down the machine in order to permit the slideways to cool. The inventive veneer slicing machine should be able to be used in continuous operation at a maximum stroke rate and thus function without resulting in a loss in quality. To this end, cooling means are arranged on the slideways (16) and are provided in said slideways (16) e.g. in the form of borings (21) through which the coolant circulates whereby enabling heat to be carried away in a well-directed manner.

  • Patent number: 6837706
Abstract: Modern drying units for gypsum plaster board have a feed device, comprising several roller feed units (1) arranged in levels one above the other. The drying section is generally divided into several zones (3 to 7), in particular three longitudinally ventilated zones (4 to 6), being two high temperature zones (4, 5) and a subsequent low temperature zone (6). Due to the high production capacity of the upline production plant and the necessarily long residence time, drying units are very long. According to the invention, black boards (19) are arranged above and below the individual roller feed units (1) in the high temperature zones (4, 5), which extend across the width of the roller feed units (1). The boards (19) are heated exclusively by means of the flowing drying air to an elevated temperature, and transmit additional heat to the through-flowing gypsum plaster board (16) by radiation. It is possible to reduce the length of the drying unit due to the increased heat transfer coefficient.
