  • Patent number: 7113315
Abstract: An electronic projector (beamer) is equipped with a profiling device (100) internally or externally connected thereto through standard interfaces. The profiling device includes all functionalities required for the color management (color measurement, calibration, profile generation, etc.) and corresponds with the projector (200) by way of a simple text based protocol. The latter can be implemented relatively easily by way of software in the projector, so that no changes to the fundamental concept of the projector are required. The profiling device can therefore on the one hand be easily integrated at the factory into existing projectors and on the other hand used as external complement to available projectors. The profiling device can however also be an independent device for the profiling of other electronic display devices (for example monitors) as well as for other, for example metrological tasks.

  • Patent number: 6788412
Abstract: A two dimensional color pattern which at each point has a definite and unique color value is reproduced on a measurement surface by way of a computer controlled display device for the optical marking of a target region on the measurement surface captured by a color measuring device. The color measuring device is aimed at the measurement surface and the color value of the target region captured by the color measuring device is measured. The coordinates of the target region on the measurement surface are calculated from the measured color value and an optical marker which visually indicates the location of the target region on the measurement surface is reproduced at that location on the measurement surface as defined by the calculated coordinates of the target region. Alignment of the color measurement device is simplified and made possible without the need for laser pointers or cameras.

  • Patent number: 6765674
Abstract: For the colorimetric measurement of a two-dimensional original, the original is photoelectrically scanned pixel by pixel in a first step by way of a color-enabled photoelectric scanning device. A digital color representation of the original is produced from the thereby obtained scanning data. In a second step, suitable measuring positions are determined from the digital color representation of the original by way of a computer using image processing methods. In a third step, the color measuring head is automatically moved under the control of the computer to the so determined measuring positions and the original is colorimetrically measured at those measuring positions. The color data obtained thereby can be further processed, for example for the generation of apparatus profiles for the colorimetric control of output apparatus. The scanning device is preferably a high resolution flatbed or autofeed scanner or a digital camera. The color measuring head is preferably a spectral measuring head.

  • Patent number: 6732917
Abstract: A device (strip reader) for an automatic photoelectric measurement of measuring fields contained on a sheet or strip-shaped, opaque or transparent original comprising a housing, transport members for automatically pulling the original into the housing and for transporting the original along a transport path, and a spectrophotometric measurement arrangement as well as a controller in co-operation with the transport members and the measurement arrangement. The measurement arrangement is adjustable in a direction transverse to the transport direction and illuminates the measuring fields provided on the original with light of a defined quality, and receives the light remitted or transmitted from the measuring fields in dependence upon the original and converts this measuring light into electrical signals representing the spectra of the measuring fields.
