Abstract: A system and method for transferring items in a storage facility are provided. The storage facility includes a storage system that includes bins, a control server, and a sensing system. A pick-put operation on an inventory item is performed by picking the inventory item from a robotic apparatus by an operator and storing the inventory item in a corresponding bin of the storage system. The control server receives sensor signals when the sensing system automatically senses a pick-up of the inventory item from the robotic apparatus and placement of the inventory item in the corresponding bin of the storage system. The reception of the sensor signals by the control server indicates execution of the pick-put operation. Thus, a need for the operator to manually scan the inventory item during the pick-up or press any buttons on the storage system to indicate completion of the pick-put operation is eliminated.

Abstract: An order consolidation system and method in a storage facility is disclosed. An item received at an order consolidation station by way of a robotic apparatus is transferred by the order consolidation station to another robotic apparatus by way of instructions received from a control server. The control server detects a side of the order consolidation station at which the robotic apparatus arrives, compares received data of placed items on the order consolidation station with stored data to determine a match between the received data and the stored data, and controls the transfer based on the match between the received data and the stored data and detection of the robotic apparatus at the other side of the order consolidation station. The transport of the robotic apparatus with the items to a packaging station is further controlled by the control server for packaging an order.

Abstract: An inventory management system comprising at least one storage unit, first and second robotic apparatus, and a control server. The control server receives a handling request for handling one or more inventory items stored in the storage unit and communicates a first set of instructions to first robotic apparatus to cause the first robotic apparatus to transport the storage unit from an inventory storage area to a processing area. The control server further communicates a second set of instructions to second robotic apparatus to cause the second robotic apparatus to receive the inventory items and transport the received inventory items to an operation area. The control server further communicates a third set of instructions to the second robotic apparatus to cause the second robotic apparatus to align with an identified target platform for transferring the transported inventory items to the identified target platform.

Abstract: A movable operator station is disclosed. The movable operator station includes a first base plate, a second base plate, and a first support unit. A multi-tier structure is slidably coupled to the first base plate and is slidable in “X” axis between first and second positions. The second base plate is slidably coupled to the first base plate and is slidable between third and fourth positions. The first support unit is slidably coupled to the second base plate and is slidable along the “X” axis. A set of linking members links the first multi-tier structure to the first support unit. The set of linking members extends or collapses based on a movement of the second base plate along the “Y” axis. The first support unit and the set of linking members form a second multi-tier structure when the second base plate is at the fourth position.

Abstract: A system for enablement of services and resource allocation in a storage facility is provided. The system includes a plurality of resources and a server. The server stores an identifier and historical data of an item, and receives the identifier associated with the item. The server identifies a default lifecycle of the item and allocates a first set of resources to each predefined process of the default lifecycle. The server detects a value-added service requirement and selects a value-added service based on the detected value-added service requirement. The server modifies the default lifecycle of the item by introducing the selected value-added service in the default lifecycle, identifies and allocates a second set of resources from the plurality of resources to execute the selected value-added service.

Abstract: An order processing system includes a plurality of robotic devices, a set of storage systems, an order consolidation system, and a control server. The control server receives a set of orders for an item, determines a cumulative order quantity of the item, and selects a subset of the set of orders to be opened up for consolidation at the order consolidation system. The control server identifies one the storage systems that stores the item as per the cumulative order quantity and assigns the storage system to an operator station for batch picking of the cumulative order quantity. The control server controls a first robotic device to transport the storage system to the operator station, and a second robotic device to collect from the operator station a first portion of the cumulative order quantity and transfer the first portion to a set of order bins associated with the subset of orders.

Abstract: Provided is a locker system that includes a plurality of lockable doors, a security lock mechanism, and a plurality of compartments. Opening of each lockable door is controlled based on a corresponding security parameter. The security lock mechanism controls opening and closing of each lockable door based on the corresponding security parameter. Each compartment is accessible from a front side and a rear side of the locker system. An access to each compartment from the front side is controlled by a corresponding lockable door. Each compartment is open from the rear side. When a robotic apparatus, transporting one or more items associated with a process at a storage facility, aligns with the locker system from the rear side, the one or more items are accessible from the front side based on opening of one or more corresponding lockable doors of one or more compartments of the plurality of compartments.

Abstract: A system for transporting inventory in a storage facility is disclosed. The system includes a control server, a robotic apparatus, and a payload (i.e., a mobile storage unit (MSU)). The robotic apparatus includes a track plate, a top plate superimposing the track plate, and a latch lock mechanism including a plurality of latch locks. The control server communicates instructions to the robotic apparatus for transporting the MSU. Based on the instructions, the robotic apparatus aligns beneath a base plate that is attached to a bottom surface of the MSU and raises the top plate to lift the MSU. When the top plate moves relative to the track plate, the plurality of latch locks engage with the base plate of the MSU based on a degree of alignment between the top plate and the base plate, to secure the MSU with the robotic apparatus.

Abstract: A system for managing inventory items within a storage facility includes a control server communicably coupled to a first robotic apparatus and a second robotic apparatus. The storage facility includes a dynamic storage space in which a dynamic storage system is placed beneath the static storage system. The control server maps inventory items to one of the dynamic storage system and the static storage system based on a set of attributes. The control server receives request for fulfillment of an order. Based on the received request, the first robotic apparatus retrieves inventory items stored in the dynamic storage system, and the second robotic apparatus retrieves inventory items stored in the static storage system. The inventory items collected from the dynamic storage system and the static storage system are transported to an order fulfillment and replenishment location to consolidate the retrieved items and fulfill the order.
