Abstract: A rotary drive system includes a cylinder wall, a piston axially slidable along a longitudinal axis within the cylinder wall and a piston rod extending along the longitudinal axis and projecting at a drive side of the system axially beyond the cylinder wall. The piston rod is at the drive side attached to a carrier support member. A rotatable annular cam member extends at an axial cam position that is spaced at a distance from the drive side, coaxially around the cylinder wall. A carrier carries at a support side a pair of rollers engaging on opposed cam surfaces of the cam member, the carrier extending radially outwardly from the cylinder wall from the cam position to the carrier support member and being with a connecting end detachably connected to the carrier support member. The carrier includes an arm provided with a flexible section.

Abstract: The invention relates to a drive system provided with a cylinder shell with two end sections and, inside said cylinder shell, a central combustion chamber with two piston bodies arranged therein, that are displaceable in axially opposed directions within said combustion chamber, wherein a drive rod extending along the longitudinal axis of the cylinder shell is connected with each piston body and has a drive extension extending outwardly from each respective end section of said cylinder shell, wherein said drive rods are each connected via a drive element with a rotary body that can rotate around the cylinder shell, wherein said drive elements are provided with bearings that bear upon said rotary body and that, when in reciprocating motion, drive said rotary body in rotation about said longitudinal axis.
Abstract: A rotary drive member includes a longitudinal axis defining a length direction, a curved cam contact surface forming a closed contour around the longitudinal axis and extending in the length direction and a reciprocating member having a carrier movable in the length direction. At least one cam follower wheel is rotatably mounted on the carrier via a cam follower axis that extends in a direction transverse to the length direction. The wheel has a wheel contact surface engaging with the cam contact surface for rolling along the cam contact surface and driving the cam contact surface in rotation around the longitudinal axis. The cam follower axis is oriented at an angle ? with respect to the transverse direction for removing play between the wheels and the cam surface and preventing of jamming. In the event of axial loads on the rollers, no radial forces will be induced on the carrier.
