Patents Assigned to Griffin Environmental Company, Inc.
  • Patent number: 6350290
Abstract: A dust collector for handling high temperature process gases such as air containing dust and dirt. The collector includes a cylindrical filter housing and a clean air plenum mounted over the housing. A series of ceramic filter tubes are mounted in a tube sheet situated between the housing and the plenum and hot dirt containing process air is drawn from the housing into the plenum through the filter tubes. A blowdown system is mounted in the plenum over the filter tube for periodically pulsing a jet of dirt removing air into the filter tubes with sufficient force to remove dirt and dust collected upon the filter tubes. The valves and the inlet piping to the blowdown tubes are protected from the heat generated in the housing by a pair of spaced apart heat shields that are designed to conduct a natural flow of cool ambient air over the pipes. Heat exchanger fins are mounted upon the pipes to further enhance the cooling process.

  • Patent number: 5308369
Abstract: A cylindrical filter bag including a wire mesh cage is provided with an access opening in the cage proximate to the open end of the filter bag. A resilient snap band is provided around the outer circumference of the cylindrical filter bag. The snap band includes a pair of felt rings formed around the band and an annular groove between the rings. The snap band thus provided can be depressed into the access opening in the wire mesh cage to allow the filter bag to be readily positioned in an airtight manner within a circular hole provided in the tube sheet of a dust collector. The hole in the tube sheet is provided with a collar having a radially extended flange portion that is attached to the top surface of the tube sheet to center the collar above the hole. The wire mesh cage of the filter bag is further provided with a reinforcing sleeve that mates with the tube sheet collar, and a venturi that is positioned concentrically within the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4655806
Abstract: A dust separator including a cylindrical housing that is separated by a pair of spaced apart tube sheets into an upper incoming air distributor, an intermediate tube compartment and a lower settling chamber. Large diameter air permeable filter tubes are suspended between the tubes to conduct airborne particles and dust captured inside the tubes into the settling chamber. A dirty air inlet is provided in the distributor while an air outlet connected to a blower is mounted in the lower part of the tube compartment. The blower draws air from the distributor through the tube walls so that the air is cleansed of airborne materials. A perforated control baffle is placed in front of the discharge opening to provide for a uniform and even flow of air through the tubes.
