Abstract: A toilet seat lifter for raising a toilet seat when not in use includes a base, a threaded shaft extending downwardly therefrom to secure the base to a mounting surface of a toilet bowl, a cylindrical body supported by the base, a hinge pin extending from an end of the cylindrical body for pivotally supporting the toilet seat, and a torsion spring extending around and supported by the cylindrical body. One end of the torsion spring engages the base, and the other end engages the bottom of the toilet seat to bias the toilet seat upwardly away from the bowl. The base and cylindrical body are preferably integrally formed as a single unit. The base preferably includes an upper plateau for being engaged by one end of the torsion spring.
