Abstract: A modular seating riser for stadia, a set of structural modules for building the same, a kit and an assembly therefor, as well as to a method for building the same, are provided. More particularly, a set of structural modules for building a structurally sound modular seating riser on which seats of a bleacher-type stadium can be mounted are provided. The structural modules are an elongated metal extrusion. The set of structural module includes a first module having a female tensioned catch-connector provided along a lateral edge thereof, and a second module having a male tensioned catch-connector provided along a lateral edge thereof. The male and female tensioned catch-connectors have complementary configurations for mating and interlocking together, and forming, when interlocked together, a structural permanent joint.
Abstract: A prefabricated bridge deck panel can be affixed to pre-existing bridge girders. The bridge deck panel includes an elongated metal deck plate stiffened longitudinally by longitudinal stiffening metal ribs. The bridge deck panel also has at least one inverted Tee rib underneath the deck plate. The vertical web member of the inverted Tee rib has its upper end structurally secured to the deck plate of the bridge deck panel. The panel also includes spaced-apart transverse floor beams underneath the deck plate. The vertical web member of the transverse floor beams has recesses fitted over the longitudinal stiffening metal ribs, and interfits with the vertical web member of the inverted Tee rib. The upper end of the transverse floor beams is structurally secured to the deck plate. In use, the inverted Tee rib is laid on and secured to a pre-existing bridge girder.
Abstract: A joist suitable for use in a composite concrete floor is disclosed. The joist comprises a top chord, a bottom chord; and a vertically extending intermediate web having a top end secured to the top chord and a bottom end secured to the bottom chord. The top chord comprises a pair of longitudinally continuous symmetrical chord members facing each other and embracing the top end of the web. Each of the chord members includes a vertical portion secured to the top end of the web and a slanting upper extension extending above and away from the top end of the web, thereby providing a shear connecting portion and a flared opening, between the two facing chord members, giving access to the web and improving access of a welding tool to the area between the symmetrical portion of the top chord and the web member that must be joined together.
Abstract: A prefabricated masonry covered structural wall panel is disclosed, comprising a plurality of framing members extending in a parallel relationship to each other and to which are secured metallic skeletal supports. A perforated metallic cladding, attached to the metallic skeletal supports, is covered with a plurality of thin bricks. The prefabricated panel can be used as an integral structural part of a building structure or in a curtain wall.
