Abstract: In a turbine for a compressible fluid in which the fluid flow leaving the tepenultimate stage is separated into two coaxial flows, the inner flow passes through both the penultimate and the final stages of the turbine while the outer flow passes through the final stage only. This high efficiency arrangement for the last stages of a high power turbine exploits the advantages made available by using titanium as the blade material.

Abstract: A turbine rotor having twisted blades, are, in the vicinity of their radiy outer portions integrally connected with each other to prevent any rotation in either direction of one blade in relation to its neighboring blades. The blades are prestressed during assembly by being un-twisted through an angle which is less than or equal to and in the same direction as the angle through which said blades would be un-twisted during rotation if they were free to rotate in relation to each other.

Abstract: The invention concerns a turbine shaft having stepped bearings on which ds are shrunk on. It is characterized in that the connecting surface between two successive bearings consists of two conical portions separated by a cylindrical portion and toroidal connecting portions between the cylindrical portion and the conical portions.
