  • Patent number: 7518859
Abstract: An HDD case is provided that enables direct connection of an interface connector and houses an HDD and that is superior in regard to vibration absorption, sound insulation, radiating heat, and waterproofness, and that consists of (1) a rectangular box-like case body, (2) a cover that have a heat sink, mounted via an adhesive synthetic-resin mat, and sound-absorbing materials; (3) a relay board that includes an internal connector fitted with an interface connector of the HDD, an external connector exposed to the outside so as not to protrude beyond the outside surface of the cover when the cover is closed, and wiring that connects the connectors; and (4) a waterproof seal that is applied all along the mating surface between the cover and the opening at the top of the case body and between the cover and the upper opening surface of the external connector.

  • Publication number: 20060187627
Abstract: A case for a computer is structured such that it can be freely designed and easily assembled or disassembled by a user. Desired functions can be freely assembled in the case, and the case is light in weight and compact. The case has a solid shape formed by a plurality of outer panels assembled together and into which are installed bays for mounting modules for computer. Switches and insertion/removal openings for external storage modules are at least provided on front side of the case, and connectors are at least provided on rear side. The outer panels are removably installed with screws on the outside of frame members that form outline of the solid shape. The frame members comprise outer frames that are arranged so as to form outline of each face of the solid shape, and corner parts that are arranged at the corners of the sold shape and connect adjacent outer frames. The outer frames and the corner parts are assembled with screws so that they are easy to disassemble.

  • Patent number: 6845006
Abstract: An outer enclosure case according to the present invention is substantially flat and rectangular in appearance and accommodates an inner hard-disk-drive case that contains a hard disk and a drive unit and the like for driving the hard disk. The outer enclosure case includes a box-like case body that has an open bottom portion; a cover that mounts over the open bottom portion; acoustic material of a prescribed thickness lining the inner peripheral surfaces of the enclosure case body; a heat-dissipating plate disposed on the inside of the top panel of the enclosure case body; and support members that extend from the heat-dissipating plate inside the enclosure case body so as to support the inner hard-disk-drive case between them. The enclosure case cover, the enclosure case body, the heat-dissipating plate, and the support members are constituted of aluminum or an aluminum alloy and are disposed in contact with the inner hard-disk-drive case in such a way as to dissipate heat.
