  • Publication number: 20140033507
Abstract: A coupling (10) for receiving and retaining the end of a conduit. The coupling (10) includes a leading body part (12), a grab ring (14), a sealing ring (16), a trailing body part (18) and a sleeve (11). The trailing body part (18) has an outer surface portion (46) which is inclined to diverge outwardly and a rear face (20) that extends from a trailing end of the outer surface (46), and that faces axially. The sleeve (11) extends circumferentially around the leading body part (12), the grab ring (14), the sealing ring (16) and the trailing body part (18). The sleeve (11) includes a forward end (24) for engaging the leading body part (12) a first axial portion (23) which extends from the forward end (24), an inclined portion (22) which extends from the axial portion (23) and which is inclined complimentary to the outer surface portion (46).

  • Patent number: 8322755
Abstract: A tube coupling 10 including a tubular housing 11, a seal 12 within the housing 11 and a grab ring 13 for gripping the outside of a tube. The grab ring 13 is mounted within the housing 11 between a first pair of abutments 27 and 28 which are spaced apart axially in the direction of insertion of a tube into the coupling 10. The grab ring 13 is split through its circumference at 29, to allow a radial contraction for insertion into the housing 11 past the first abutment 28. The grab ring 13 can then radially expand for location between the abutments 27 and 28.

  • Publication number: 20110114201
Abstract: A temperature sensitive relief valve for a reservoir of a hot fluid including a cold fluid inlet in communication with a cold fluid outlet via a main cold fluid feed arrangement; a fluid mixing chamber having an outlet; a hot fluid inlet adapted for attachment to the reservoir of hot fluid and in communication with the fluid mixing chamber; a secondary cold fluid feed arrangement in communication with the fluid mixing chamber; and a valve arrangement responsive to the temperature of the hot fluid in the reservoir so that, when the temperature of the hot fluid is below a pre-determined value, the valve arrangement is in a first configuration which prevents hot fluid and cold fluid from entering the fluid mixing chamber and, when the temperature of the hot fluid exceeds the pre-determined value, the valve arrangement adopts a second configuration which allows hot fluid and cold fluid to enter the fluid mixing chamber, thereafter to flow out of the outlet of the fluid mixing chamber as a mixed fluid having a tem

  • Publication number: 20110025054
Abstract: A pipe coupling 10 for coupling to a pipe end. The coupling including first and second body parts, a grip ring, an O-ring seal and a sleeve. The first and second body parts are aligned axially and define a cavity into which a pipe end can be inserted. Each of the grip ring and the O-ring are located within the cavity. The grip ring grips the pipe end against retraction from the cavity and the O-ring seals against the outer surface of the pipe end. The sleeve extends circumferentially about the first and second portion body parts and engages the body parts to resist movement of the body parts axially away from each other.

  • Patent number: 7665671
Abstract: Thermostatic mixing valve has a valve body, a cold fluid inlet, a hot fluid inlet, and a fluid outlet. Mixing chamber is located between the respective fluid inlets and the fluid outlet. Thermostatic element is located in or adjacent to the mixing chamber and is arranged to contact a piston at one end and via a mixing tube the valve body at the other end. Piston regulates flow through the fluid inlets into the mixing chamber. The piston is can move due to continued expansion of the thermostatic element after the piston has closed off the second fluid inlet. Valve body has an internal thread with which a thread on mixing tube permits adjustment of the relative position of the thermostatic element within the valve body and hence the set temperature of the thermostatic mixing valve.

  • Publication number: 20070029395
Abstract: A thermostatic mixing valve 10 including a valve body 11 having a first fluid 12 inlet, a second fluid inlet 13 and a mixed fluid outlet 14, a mixing chamber 16 located between the respective fluid inlets 12,13 and the fluid outlet 14. A thermostatic element 15 is located for exposure to mixed fluid and a piston 17 is arranged for movement within the valve body in response to expansion or contraction of the thermostatic element 15. The piston 17 throttles flow of fluid through the first fluid inlet 12 into the mixing chamber 16 by varying its position relative to a first seat 33, and through the second fluid inlet 13 into the mixing chamber 16 by varying its position relative to a second seat formed as a bore 35 into which the piston 17 can progressively enter.
