Patent number: 8192111Abstract: A boot for attaching a geosynthetic layer to a vertical member in a soil, where the geosynthetic layer extends substantially horizontally outwardly from the vertical member. The boot includes a stack of flexible rings. Each ring has an inner edge defining a center opening larger than the horizontal cross section of the vertical member and an outer edge, and is secured around its inner edge to the inner edge of a ring adjacent one side and around its outer edge to the outer edge of a ring adjacent its other side. The bottom ring of the stack of rings is adapted to secure to the geosynthetic layer. A securement ring is secured around the top ring of the stack of rings and has a center opening adapted to be secured to the vertical member.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 2009Date of Patent: June 5, 2012Assignee: GSE Lining Technology, Inc.Inventor: Edward J. Patent number: 7470094Abstract: A geocomposite for use in a landfill, including a geonet and a geotextile bonded to at least one side of the geonet. The geonet includes a first plurality of substantially parallel strands, and a second plurality of substantially parallel strands disposed on top of the first plurality of strands, the second plurality of strands being at an angle relative to the first plurality of strands. The first and second plurality of strands are substantially incompressible and secured to one another at crossover locations, and are substantially round in cross-section.Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 2005Date of Patent: December 30, 2008Assignee: GSE Lining Technology, Inc.Inventors: Dino Heathcott, Dhani Narejo, Rick Schaefer, Boyd Ramsey

Patent number: 6303204Abstract: A geosynthetic liner may be formed of sheets of substantially liquid impermeable synthetic material such as high density polyethylene. The adjacent edges of adjacent sheets may be lapped over one another to form a lapped joint. The lapped joint may be covered by a relatively narrow seam cover which seals the region between the two sheets. The cover may be formed of a geomembrane layer over a clay layer. The clay layer may be formed of particles of bentonite which are adhesively secured to the geomembrane layer. Thus, the geomembrane liner seam may be sealed by simply unrolling the cover over the lapped joint and covering the sheets and the cover with a layer of overburden.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 2000Date of Patent: October 16, 2001Assignee: GSE Lining Technology, Inc.Inventor: Michael C. Mathieson

Patent number: 5728424Abstract: A system for forming a textured surface on a geomembrane including a support surface, a first set of rollers for passing the geomembrane onto the support surface such that a surface of the geomembrane faces upwardly, a heater positioned in proximity to the surface of the geomembrane so as to heat the geomembrane to a desired elevated temperature, a particle distributer positioned above the geomembrane so as to pass solid particles onto the surface of the geomembrane in a desired particle distribution. The particles can have a desired size and geometry as they are passed onto the surface of the geomembrane. A second set of rollers is positioned adjacent to the port surface so as to receive the geomembrane after the particles have been distributed thereon. The heater includes a preheater positioned on one side of the particle distributor and a postheater positioned on an opposite side of the particle distributor.Type: GrantFiled: April 10, 1996Date of Patent: March 17, 1998Assignee: GSE Lining Technology, Inc.Inventor: Walter W. Patent number: 5497097Abstract: An apparatus for detecting a connection between adjacent vertical panels having a first contact element positioned adjacent a bottom of one of the panels, a second contact element positioned adjacent a bottom of an adjacent panel, a first conductive line extending from the first contact element, a second conductive line extending from the second contact element, an electrical source for passing a current to at least one of the first and second conductive lines, and a detector connected to one of the first and second conductive lines for ascertaining the existence of a connection between the first contact element and the second contact element. The second contact element is positioned in proximity to the first contact element when the panels are connected together. The first contact element is affixed to a connector member of the panel. The second contact element is affixed in a channel of an adjacent panel. The connector member is a T-shaped member.Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 1994Date of Patent: March 5, 1996Assignee: GSE Lining Technology, Inc.Inventors: Walter W. Walling, Patrick T. Brunette
