Abstract: Apparatus for enabling and disabling relative rotary movements between two members rotatable about a common axis comprises a plurality of circumferentially spaced locking pins carried by one of the members and a plurality of circumferentially spaced sockets in the other of the members, the pins and sockets being uniformly spaced from the axis of rotation and each of the sockets being of such size as to accommodate any one of the pins. The number of pins is different from the number of sockets. The angular spacing between adjacent pins is uniform, and the angular spacing between adjacent sockets is uniform, but different from the angular spacing between adjacent pins. The angular spacing between the pins and the sockets defines a ratio which is not a whole integer.

Abstract: Custom-profiled seating for a wheel chair or other body support seating systems includes seat and backrest members having outer covers in which a liner bag is removably accommodated and into which expandable, curable foam-in-place material is introduced to conform to that portion of a person's body which is to engage seat or backrest to attain a custom fit. The seat and backrest members are provided with access openings sufficiently large to enable the liner and resultant foam cushion member within the liner to be removed from the cavity for reshaping or replacement.
Abstract: A footrest assembly removably and pivotally connected to a wheelchair seat frame has a foot support rockable about two mutually normal axes to enable the elevation of the foot support to be adjusted and the foot support to swing between a normal position forwardly of the seat to an adjusted position to one side of the seat and facilitate movements of a person to and from the seat. The footrest also is bodily removable from the wheelchair seat frame.
Abstract: A chair for use by an incapacitated person has a wheeled frame which carries a body support assembly composed of a seat, a back, and a foot rest. The back is angularly adjustable relative to the seat and the foot rest is angularly adjustable relative to the seat. The body support assembly is rockable as a unit relative to the frame to enable the entire assembly to occupy any one of a member of tilted positions. The body support assembly may be removed as a unit from the frame for use as a car seat or the like.
