Abstract: A firing miss-measuring installation and method by means of which it is possible to directly measure firing misses, i.e. the distance between the projectile and the target. Live ammunition is used for firing at a target, such as a tow bag or other target simulating device. The firing miss-measuring installation contains two television cameras, azimuth and elevation coding devices, distance measuring devices, target tracking devices, analogue-digital converters and a process computer containing a program in order to compute the actual distance between the target and the projectile which appears at both image or monitoring screens of the television cameras.
