    Abstract: A steam trap has a control member which includes a bimetallic element at the prepressure side and a locking element, which is biased by the prepressure in an opening direction relative to a valve seat provided for the locking element. The bimetallic element is supported at one end on an abutment and it actuates the locking element with its other end. At least one snap spring which is supported on the abutment is effective on the control member in the direction of the locking element stroke axis, and it has a spring constant which is numerically larger than the spring constant of the bimetallic element.

    Abstract: A check valve with a valve seat formed in the valve housing wherein two side-by-side locking members are pivotably mounted in the valve seat for movement between an open and closed position. The locking members have their pivoting edges mounted adjacent and parallel to each other in the housing and have bearing bushings formed along the adjacent edges which engage side-by-side shafts whose ends are engaged to the valve housing. A pair of locking springs each have their windings engaged to one of the shafts which are located between the bearing bushings. Each of said springs has a first shank portion which is rigidly supported by an abutment of the valve housing and a second shank portion which engages the locking member mounted on the same shaft of the corresponding spring to urge the same into a closed position relative to the valve seat.

    Abstract: A flap valve is provided which includes a valve housing having a valve seat defined therein, on one side of which is a flow inlet chamber and on the other side of which is a flow discharge chamber, at least one locking element pivotably mounted in the valve housing for movement between an open and closed position relative to the valve seat, and at least one locking spring mounted in the flow inlet chamber of the housing having one portion which is rigidly held in the valve housing and a pivotable lever arm which engages the locking element to urge the locking member into the closed position. The lever arm of the spring and the locking member are slideably coupled together so that the force required to open the locking member increases only slightly or preferably decreases during the opening pivotable movement of the locking member.

The housing has a generally pipe-shaped neck portion, one end of which has disposed thereacross the housing wall through which the passageway extends, and the sensing element is at least partially disposed in the neck portion in a direction generally parallel to the longitudinal axis of the neck portion. The neck portion is filled with a heat-resistant, porous filler material, which prevents damage to the sealing packing element.

    Abstract: An electrode device for use in monitoring conductive liquids consisting of a mounting with a first electrode having a tie rod portion disposed through the central opening of the mounting and a clamping collar secured to the tie rod adjacent to one side of the mounting. The first electrode then extends further in an extending portion and is surrounded coaxially by a second tubular electrode which is connected through a contact sleeve disposed in the central opening of the mounting. There is also a counterelectrode coaxially surrounding the second electrode and secured to the mounting surface. The second electrode has an end flange portion with a passageway for receiving the rod portion of the first electrode. The clamping nut secures the rod portion of the first electrode and the end flange between insulating washers to the mounting.
