  • Patent number: 4981062
Abstract: Saw belt roller, in particular for horizontal belt saws, in which the peripheral or running surface (3) carrying the saw belt consists of a wear-resistant, hard, metal material. The metal joining piece (6) between the running surface (3) and the hub (5) of the saw belt roller (1) is interrupted by the insertion of a noise-damping, in particular viscoelastic, material (7), which is preferably selected from concrete polymer, silicone, rubber, in particular hard rubber, or similar elastomeric material.

  • Patent number: 4911037
Abstract: A method of mounting cutters (3) or the like of high-alloy tool steel on a tool supporting member of metallic material, especially on the master disk (2) of a circular saw blade (1) or the supporting band of a ribbon for a band saw, by providing intermediate pieces between supporting member and cutters, in which the cutters (3) of high-alloy tool steel are initially welded individually and in soft or non-hardened condition onto an intermediate piece (4), and in which subsequently the intermediate piece (4) including the cutter (3) is subjected to heat treatment to harden the cutter (3) and simultaneously temper the intermediate piece (4), whereafter the intermediate piece (4) with the cutter (3) is welded onto the supporting member (2). Tools made in accordance with such a method are therefore distinguished by cutters (3), of high-alloy tool steel which are welded via an intermediate piece (4) to a tool supporting member (e.g. the master disk (2) of a circular saw blade (1)).

  • Patent number: 4867026
Abstract: A cutting tooth, viz. roughing tooth (2) and finishing tooth (3) made from cutting metal for a metal slitting saw, especially a circular disk saw, the geometry of said tooth being determined by the primary clearance angle (.alpha.), the rake angle (.gamma.), the radial clearance angle (.beta.), the tangential untoleranced dimension (s-e) and a tangential land (12) on the finishing tooth (3) with a negative relief angle (.epsilon.), in which for both the roughing tooth (2) and the finishing tooth (3) the cutting edge (7; 7', 7") is stabilized by a negative land (5; 5', 5"), and in which the angle (.chi.) between land and chip breaker face (4) is about 190.degree. to 240.degree., especially about 205.degree. to 230.degree..

  • Patent number: 4753333
Abstract: Transport device for rod-shaped material (16) for feeding a processing machine, in particular a metal saw, with rake-type supporting rails (2, 10) extending in the feed direction, and with a roller bed (14, 15) located transversely at the front end of the support rails (2, 10). In each case two supporting rails (2, 10) are arranged side-by-side, one of which is fixed and the other is movable along a closed curved track. The movable supporting rails (10) are arranged and their movement is selected in such a manner that their front ends extend through the roller bed (14, 15) and underrun its delivery plane in their lowermost position. At the front ends of the movable supporting rails (10) push-out angles (11) are attached, by means of which remaining rod material (17) can be pushed from the roller bed (14, 15) onto a depository (12), which is located at that side of the roller bed (14, 15) which is opposite the rake-type support rails (2, 10).

  • Patent number: 4378715
Abstract: The gap cut by a saw blade into a work piece is kept open behind the saw blade by work piece engaging clamping jaw portions on each side of the blade. For this purpose, each clamping jaw includes, in addition to the clamping pressure applying power drive, a further power drive which permits moving the respective work piece engaging clamping jaw portion independently of the clamping pressure applying power drive and in a direction extending substantially perpendicularly to the direction of movement of the clamping pressure applying power drive.

  • Patent number: 4174919
Abstract: A holder for a tangential chasing tool is supported in a tiltable manner in a thread cutter head which opens automatically. The holder has a chaser seat as well as a clamping plate including a guide claw. The clamping plate secures the dovetail portion of the chaser tool with the aid of a clamping jaw and two clamping screws. Exchangeable intermediate disks having different wedging angles, are insertable into the chaser seat. The bottom edge of said guide claw of the clamping plate has a convex shape, whereby the chaser tool is securely held in the holder without the need for a plurality of chaser holder sets and without any substantial modification of the holder structure.

  • Patent number: 4143567
Abstract: A saw, especially a circular metal saw, is equipped with a device for keeping open the gap cut by the saw blade. For this purpose two chucking members are arranged symmetrically to the right and left of the saw blade on one side of the workpiece and an abutment member is arranged on the opposite side of the workpiece and opposite the saw blade. Power drive means press the chucking members against the workpiece. The workpiece engaging elements of the chucking members may be pointed ridges or conical tips.

  • Patent number: 4106378
Abstract: In circular saws, especially of the so-called cold type, for steel and nonferrous metals, there is a certain play in the gear drive or power transmission between the prime mover such as an electric motor and the saw blade proper. Especially during the start and during the completion of a sawing operation such play causes a temporary stopping of the blade. To avoid such play a brake mechanism with blade engaging brake shoes is provided which is energized and de-energized in response to the current consumption of the electric saw drive motor or in response to position responsive switch means, whereby the brake is effective during the start and during the stopping of the saw blade.

  • Patent number: 3938418
Abstract: This circular saw blade has a center disk and circumferential teeth segments secured to the center disk, for example, by welding. The center disk has two rows of circumferentially spaced radially outwardly extending lands. The two rows of lands are preferably axially spaced from each other by a circumferential groove. The lands in each row are circumferentially spaced by gaps, whereby the lands in one row are angularly displaced relative to the lands in the other row so that the lands in one row face the gaps in the other row. The teeth segments are provided with the same type of lands and gaps, but facing radially inwardly, whereby the lands contacting each other on both sides of the disk may be electronically welded from one side of the disk. Worn out segments may be easily removed by a cutting or grinding tool having an outer diameter somewhat smaller than the distance from one outer wall of a gap to the outer wall of the next adjacent gap.
