Abstract: A tap, particularly for drinking fountains, has a plunger 17, operated by a toggle 24 and carrying a compressible valve member 19. The valve member 19 cooperates with a seat 16. In order to simplify replacement of the compressible valve member 19, the seat 16 is formed on a receivable carrier 11 which is sealingly and slidably mounted in the valve body and is removable with the plunger when the locking ring 12 is removed.
